CAC n Ballers Survive OT with a Persistent 1-2 Punch
Apparently two's a party and three's a crowd and The CAC n Ballers proved this in the B2 Unification Game as Big Ant & Big Country absolutely dominated for their team earning themselves Co. MVP honors and an exclusive one of a kind photo shoot with yours truly*
While Cha-Ching launched a well-balanced attack, The Big Boys ran the show for the Ballers all over the court. Their M.O. was get to the hoop hard, and along the way collect as many AND1 opportunities as possible. Cha-Ching did their best to dismantle the Ballers with 3 of 6 players in early foul trouble. Greg hustled the lane, poppin in some sleek floaters, and rippin down boards. Jared and Mike were all over the offensive glass creating multiple scoring opportunities for Cha-Ching. Almost all of their baskets were off assists and their impressive team play kept them nipping at the heels of the Ballers, ending the first down just 3 points.
Coming into the second things started heating up, Cha-Ching opened hot on an 11-0 run. Greg and Brice were bombing away from downtown, neither of them could miss and for a while they managed to keep their boys in the lead. Unfortunately, Brice, who put up 14 points, fouled out with 12:30 to go in the game sacrificing himself to stop the two-headed monster of the Ballers.
At this point Ant and Big Country turned it back up, chipping away at the lead Cha-Ching had built. At 9 minutes, a 3 from Ant gave the Ballers the go-ahead, but Cha-Ching wasn't giving up and kept themselves alive as Greg threw his teammates on his back and put up a phenomenal 31 second-half points that undoubtedly made it hard to give the MVP to anyone else. With 1:30 on the clock Greg put Cha-Ching back in the lead, as both teams exchanged a few more buckets and to the chagrin of the refs sent the game into OT.
In 3 damaging OT minutes Ant & Big Country stuck their final daggers into Cha-Ching, despite a 3 from Greg and some clutch free-throws from Mike. But the Ballers hung on and prevailed, proving like I said that 2's a party and 3's a crowd.
