Summer 2005 B2 League Awards

Another successful B2 league here at CRFC as we had yet another innovation and split the leagues into east and west divisions for parity purposes. The story of this league was not individuals but teams. Team Baka and Foot Clan came out of nowhere and shook up the gym and became champions. We did have our fair share of phenoms join the league with Joel Cuadrado and Jeff Lincoln. All in all and enjoyable season to watch and an unbelievable ending. – WOLVERINE

B2 West Playoff Write-Ups

B2 East Champs: Team Baka

This team quickly became one of CRFC’s favorite teams, combining energy, fun, excitement and even a little talent.
From left to right (all holding the B2 league trophy - the stick!): Peter Tam, Mychal Chin, Nelson Wong, Paul Flint, David Ko, Richmond Chow
Team Baka

B2 West Champs: Foot Clan

From a 1-8 regular season to a championship. Need I say more?
From left to right (all holding the B2 league trophy - the stick!): Neal Sheorey, Godfrey Chua, Jeff McCarthy, Rob O'Donoghue & Dan Finkle
Foot Clan

Most Valuable Player

East: Joel Cuadrado, Goodfellaz – Mr. Excitement Joel Cuadrado had an unbelievable year leading the league in scoring and clearly becoming the most unstoppable force at CRFC. Throw in an entourage that rivals Diddy’s, and you have yourself a superstar.

West: Jeff Lincoln, Isotopes – Best part about this guy is not his game. Sure he was the best player in his league, but he took his team to a new level of play by passing and distributing the ball to his mates, doing exactly what superstars are supposed to do – make his teammates better.

General Manager of the Year

East: Peter Tam, Team Baka – Thanks to Peter Tam for bringing this hodgepodge group of guys into our CRFC family. It had a superstar in Paul Flint, a sidekick in Peter and a bunch of role players that came up big at one point or another during the season. Put it all together and you have yourself a champion.

West: Dan Finkle, Foot Clan -

Defensive Player of the Year

East: “The Iceman” Jean Cadet, Ripcord – Repeat award winner. We may have to rename the award.

West: Ben Heywood, LP Slam – Ditto.

Rookie of the Year

East: Paul Flint, Team Baka – Silky smooth on the baseline, a very nice jumper and a very good rebounder. The kid can play, and not many people noticed until his game winning tip in to win the title.

West: Nate Gould, Super 88 – Nate is an animal. I can’t describe him any better than that. He is physical and hustles for every loose ball. And he has a nice jumper too.

Wolverine's Award

East: Pradeep Mamman, Genzyme – My man Deep. When you are on a team of many superstars, it could be tough to get your rhythm, never mind the ball. Nonetheless, this guy showed up for every game ready to play and contribute wherever he could.

West: Drew Lee, Isotopes – Can’t day enough about how much this guy has improved this season. But he knows it, I know it and his teammates know it, so that should be enough.
