C.A.C. Basketball 4v4 Rules


General Basketball Rules

  1. The Walls (including the padding) under the basket are out of bounds.

  2. The Wall with the door is out of bounds

  3. There is no back court violation

  4. There is no 8 second violation

  5. There is 3 seconds in the key

  6. There is 5 seconds closely guarded

  7. A player has to have a C.A.C. (or CRFC) reversible jersey with a number at the start of the game, or a technical foul will result against that player (see Fouls for Technical Foul details).


Game Rules

  1. All games will start at their scheduled time

  2. Each Half is 20 minutes in length, running time

  3. Time stops for each whistle with under :10 left in the first half, and under 2:00 in the second half

  4. Overtime is 3 minutes in length, running time

  5. Time stops for each whistle with under 1:00 left in overtime

  6. In the event of a game where each team has the minimum 4 players, each half is 18 minutes in length, running time.

  7. Each team gets 2 timeouts per half, no carry over

  8. Each team gets 1 timeout in overtime


Players

  1. Only players that are on a team’s roster and that have paid the league fee are eligible to play in C.A.C. games

  2. Any team that wishes to add a player to their roster must do so before the 5th game of the season and that player must pay before that game as well

  3. Any player that was not on the original roster and was added to the roster before the 5th game of the season must play in half of the team’s games (5) to be eligible for the playoffs

  4. All roster additions are subject to League Office approval


Forfeit Rules

  1. Any team that shows up with 2 or fewer players on the team roster forfeits the current game

  2. Any game that is started with 2 or fewer players will be a forfeit regardless if another player shows up after the game has started

  3. Every effort is made to ensure that each game is played, so other players will be added to the forfeiting team and the game will be played and stats recorded

  4. If a team forfeits twice within the same season, they are ineligible for the playoffs at the end of the season

  5. If a team shows up with only 3 players, a replacement player of similar skill level to the league will be added to the team and no forfeit will result


Playoffs

  1. The number of teams eligible for the playoffs varies depending on the size of the Leagues

  2. Only players that were on the original roster, or played half the team’s games if added after the season started, are eligible to play in the playoffs

  3. A team is not allowed to add or pickup players for a playoff game

  4. Playoff games can be played with a minimum of 3 players on a side


Officials

  1. Each game has 1 official in attendance

  2. All players will treat the official with respect and goodwill

  3. It is up to the official to call fouls and technical fouls and they have full authority from the League Offices to do so at their discretion

  4. The use of profanity towards officials will not be tolerated and can result in technical fouls, suspensions or expulsion from the Leagues


Fouls

  1. Each player gets five personal fouls per game

  2. The fifth foul results in fouling out and that player may not return to the game

  3. If a team has only four players to play a game, or only four left that have not fouled out, and a player fouls out, which would leave a 3 on 4 situation, the player that just fouled out stays in the game. Each additional personal foul against that player (6 or more) will result in a technical foul

  4. You can not sub in players that have fouled out

  5. A team is over the limit after 7 personal fouls in one half creates the 1 and 1 situation for the rest of the half

  6. A team that commits 10 personal fouls in one half creates a 2 shot situation for the rest of the half

  7. When the official determines a flagerant foul has been commited (a player not going for the ball, but rather the hard foul), the opposing team will recieve 2 shots and possession of the basketball.

  8. Both technical fouls and flagerant fouls also counts as a personal foul

  9. The result of a technical foul is 2 free throws by anyone on the opposition that is currently on the floor and that team retains/gains possession of the ball

  10. A player is ejected after receiving a second technical foul (a called technical, not related to being over the personal foul limit) in the same game

  11. An ejection leads to a one game suspension

  12. 2 ejections lead to a suspension for the rest of the league

  13. 2 league suspensions lead to a ban from the gym
