Commentary by TIBBS... The Scrotacoats 78 Evil Majic Rod 79 EMR Sheds Coat CACers - It's that time of the season. Check out the Fall 2010 Info and the 3v3 Info for August 14th/15th!
Evil Majic Rod played their best game of the season and were able to knock off the Scrotacoats from their perch atop the league. Now it's completely up for grabs as we head into the final regular season week (7/12 people!)
Without McGlynn someone had to step their game up and that someone was the Troll, aka Kappa Don. Kap went 8-18 from downtown for a season high 26 points to help his squad in a surprsingly high scoring game.
I thought the Scrotacoats played defense?!?! With both Scott and Lee in foul trouble throughout the game, Majic and JRod went to the free throw line. Sure Majic struggled a bit, but it took time off the clock and sent both bigs to the bench regularly. That means there was a mismatch somewhere, and EMR attacked it. Majic posted up more times in this game than he has all season combined. He must really be pissed that he didn't get on the MVP ballot. I don't know, I just don't see it!!
This game went back and forth all night, as the score would suggest. RoY would hit a 3 (6-15) then Majic would answer. Or JRod would find Kap, or Lee would hit a tough layup. Something always offset what was done the previous possession.
WIth 12 seconds left, Lee was absolutely CLUTCH, hitting 2 free throws to give his team the lead. Of course, Majic answered with a layup in traffic. With Scott on the bench because he fouled out, it was easier than it should have been! But why wouldn't he get that last shot, he's MVP (in his own mind) damnit!!
With little time left on the clock, everyone knew the game would be in Tommy's hands. He's the leading candidate for MVP (did Lau surpass him this week?!?) so you know it was going to him. It had to, he's the offensive spark for his team, accounting for about 60% of his team's offense on a regular basis (points + assists). Somehow, he still got free and pulled up for a patented 15 footer. Unlike when he normally shoots, this one rimmed out and EMR clinched a playoff spot.

Without Dorey, Fish Business must have assumed they'd waltz to a win and put themselves in great position to squeeze into the playoff picture. Uh yea, not so much. For the second time in 3 weeks PBG but an absolute beatdown on the offensively inept Business squad.
Once again they came out red hot. Instead of Pistol Pete, this week it was Adam Kurtzer getting the job done. Kid went 4-6 from downtown. It was THEN that Pistol got going, driving to the hole and making it look easy. All that led to a 15 point cushion for them at the break.
Just went it looked like Fish was going to figure it out, Boggan got going. After Ocal hit a big 3, and Mone went back to back, Boggan started getting to the hoopp and the line. Kid was clutch, hitting 6 of 8 free throws in the second half to keep Business at arms length.
PGB ends Dorey's 3 season A1 playoff draught despite the fact that he wasn't in attendance. I hope he takes them out for a celebratory dinner. But these guys want to do more than just get into the playoffs, they want to win. They can help themselves out with one more win and a higher seed heading into the Dance.
For Fish Business, they're still mathmatically alive. They MUST win against Evil Majic Rod in their final regular season game and have Volcanic Ash lose. One of those things is guaranteed, and it's not the Win....

Probably becasue, despite the close score, these games were snooze fests!
Ah hell, all of them are at this point in the season, can we just get to the playoffs already!?!? Even with a 9 game season it can seem like it drags on and on and on at points.
The Daddies got a great effort out of Covert again, solid D and reboundign from Filosa (is that all he has left in the tank at this point?!? It's kind of sad, like watching an aging KG, sometimes you want to just put former superstars out of their misery and take them out to pasture. Am I allowed by the powers taht be to do this?!) and Lau increased his MVP resume (before decreasing it the following week! Hi-OH!). Ruff doesn't play D so it shouldn't really count any.
Something something at the end of the game, BDubs and AB as usual had big statistacal games, but this loss cost them a shot at a top seed. Still, if Yavor decides to play (or someone bothers to sub him in, he's a B1 MVP candidate people!) this team will be dangerous. Otherwise, eh, i'm not impressed

Tough to stop such a monstrosity.
Speaking of monstrosity, anyone else get the creepy stares from BFrat before games?! I mean, I know the dude is as high as a kite, but go look at yourself in the mirror or something and stop trying to make me piss myself.
Lanfear's latest (again) doomed Wolfpack. Hey Chanel, make sure to tell Alex a gametime that is an hour EARLIER than the scheduled start time. That way he might get there before halftime!
