Men's League 53  Intramural Heroes 84

Heroes Win Seventh Straight

The Intramural Heroes have been largely untested since dropping the first game of the season to Big Tuna, and took care of business vs Men’s League to improve their record to 7-1. IH was led by Cedric White’s 13 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists. Ian MacLean chipped in 12 and 6 assists, Brendan Farley added 11, and Chris Gallivan 12. Substitute Mike had 22 and 12 including a sweet left-handed breakaway slam to aid in the Heroes’ winning effort. The Heroes look to avenge their week 1 loss to Tuna in the season finale next week.

Men’s League was led by Tom Smith’s 23 points, 7 boards, and 4 assists. He had everything working, shooting lights out from inside the arc and making the only three he took all night as well. George Schultz added 10 points. It’s been tough for this team to build chemistry throughout the season with a shifting roster, and their playoff hopes will depend on who shows up for the game.

Late Additions 51  CryptoPunkss 94

An Elite Scorer Rises to the Occasion

The CryptoPunkss picked up another victory Tuesday night, beating Late Additions 94-51. Dave Richard scored at least 33 points for the third straight game, finishing with 38 points on the night. Dave started the night slowly from deep, but had a few hot stretches which helped extend his team’s lead. The crew around Dave stepped up big time, with Connor Kenneally adding 9 points and 3 blocks, Erik Lucas adding 12 points and 4 assists, and Mark Kaliris adding 8 points and 5 assists. The ball movement was the best it has been thus far for CP, and they look to carry the momentum into the final week of the year against the BEARS.

Late Additions were led by  Brian Horton’s 13 points, Tim Davenport’s 11 points and 9 boards, and Aidan O’Donnell chipped in 8 points. Phillipe Bouzy continues to be a factor on the rebounding end, as he made his presence in the paint known.

Big Tuna 38  Not A Dime Back 52

Not A Dime Back Wins Third Straight

This was a strange game, with NADB starting off the game vs Big Tuna on a 12-0 or 14-0 run. Kyle Connor started off the scoring for NADB by draining a three, and Kevin Rewinski eventually got Big Tuna on the board with a three of his own. Tuna slowly chipped away at NADB’s lead, and NADB took a 31-20 lead into half thanks to a last second three pointer. The game picked up for Tuna at the beginning of the second half, as they clawed their way back to tie the game at 38. Joey Lisella played a key role in this run, with a few tough finishes including a beautiful lefty finish off the glass. Brady Murphy was grabbing rebounds left and right (finished with 10), and the king of following his shot, Brendan Sullivan, was able to grab 3 offensive boards to keep some Tuna possessions alive. Once the score was tied at 38, Chris Connor hit a clutch three that seemed to take the air out of Tuna’s tires. NADB finished the game on a 14-0 run to take the victory, 52-38. Chris Connor finished with 18 points, Jeff Coulter 13 points and 8 rebounds, and Marcus Giese 9 boards and 5 blocks. Mike Synott added 6 first half points for NADB, and Chris Cusano added 2 blocks.
