****B2 4v4 North Awards****

I’ve been a staple in the B2 4v4 leagues since I started stat keeping in 2011, and this is largest league I’ve ever covered for the B2 ranks. There was a huge margin with talent from top to bottom which made picking some awards difficult. Welp, on with the show!

MVP – Malcolm Green, Big Nasty: 33.0 ppg, 11.6 rpg, 4.3 apg, 1.2 spg

Hands down, Green was the best player on the WSNS or Wall Ball Arena floor. His off the charts Player Rater (66.8) was 12 points better than the second place man and fellow candidate Greg Polin. Without Green playing they lost their first 2 games, and from then they won 7 straight and have the biggest momentum going into the playoffs. Congrats Malcolm!

Offensive Player of the Year – Malcolm Green, Big Nasty

Need I say more? The man average 33 points per game along with 4 dimes per game. ‘Nuff said.

Defensive Player of the Year – Dan Maloney, Wu-Tang Financial: 5.8 def. rpg, 3.1 spg

Maloney lead the league in steals per game (3.1) and was up and down the floor for WTF. He was a key cog and his defense helped keep his team in a lot of games. Congrats to Maloney, watch out for his team in the first round, they could shock 939.

Rookie of the Year – Chris Thurston, Get It Inman: 21.6 ppg, 13.6 rpg, 1.7 apg, 1.6 spg, 1.3 bpg

A close 2nd for MVP, Thurston made an impact in his first time playing in any CAC league. This kid has got a bright future in the CAC leagues, but what a start to his career with impressvie numbers. The epitome of stat sheet stuffing, Thurston was the main gear in the GII offense, whenever he’s in the lineup, Get It Inman has a chance at beating any team in the league. Congrats Chris!

“Rory Duyon Award” Role Player of the Year – Jay Flaherty, Get It Inman: 11.8 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 7.1 apg, 2.5 spg

Playing alongside ROTY Thurston, Flaherty played his PG role to a T. Leading the league with assists (7.1), Flaherty controlled the offense so well  throughout the season, which allowed GII to stay in a lot of games. The one-two punch of Flaherty and Thurston might be tough for MVP Green and co. tonight, that should be game of the night without a doubt. Congrats Jay!

  • First of all, let me say I have nothing but the utmost respect for the job Plaise does. Buuuuut….

The MVP is clearly Greg Polin. Best player on the best team. His numbers aren’t the same as Greene’s because he actually has a supporting cast. He shouldn’t be penalized for playing a team game.

Also, not having one of either Bobby Haas or Nate Brigham on the 2nd team is a travesty of a sham.

Thats it, I’ve said my piece.

For those of you who don’t know me as the Minotaur, this is Matt Roberts of IHML II.
