Batty for Chucking Shill Lobs 42  ORANGE 71

9 to 99 Connection

What's up, everyone. My name is Dan, and I will be your stat keeper for this session. It's my first time doing this so please bear as I get used to it all. I promise I'll get better at marking assists! This is my first time seeing any of these teams play I didn't know what to expect, but we got a great night of hoops.

But enough about me, let's discuss the games of the week. Game one was Batty for Chucking Shill Lobs(Great name), vs Orange(straight to the point name). This was a game that Orange had in control pretty much from tip-off. I titled this write-up "9 to 99 Connection" because John Kelly(#9) and Drew Dodakian(#99) were doing work! John Kelly finished with 28P/12R and Drew Dodakian finished with 27P / 9R. These two controlled the game. But not to be outdone, the other members of their team played the role and helped move the ball around to get great looks. Can't wait to see more from this team.

It was a tough matchup forBatty for Chucking Shill Lobs. They were able to keep it somewhat in striking distance for the first half and into the second but then the game completely got away from them. Scott Howard was a bright spot for them with 15 points. It was only night one but I can see this team playing much better going forward. Tough matchup to start the season with.

Bucket Boys 58  WilmerHale 42

Bucket Boys were Gettin Buckets

The second game of the night was Bucket Boys playing WilmerHale. Bucket Boys were able to cruise to victory in this one. No single dominant performance for Bucket Boys, total team effort on display. Will Brennan, who someone titled as "Manbun" in the stat sheet had a real nice game leading the team with 15 points. It was a tough night for Wilmerhale. Another team I think will look better going forward than their week 1 showing. Kyle Banfield paced the team with 20 and a good showing.

Bucket Boys look like a real threat to go deep if they can continue to play like this.

Long Pigs 63  TuneSquad 74

Tune Squad was in Tune Late

In the 3rd game of the night, we had Tune Squad play Long Pigs. This was a hotly contested game back and forth in the first half. I believe(I could be wrong) it was a one-point game at the half. The second half came and Tune Squad was able to create some distance. Matt Connelly had an all-around great performance with 7P/13R/6A. This team has solid perimeter shooting and scored the highest total in the league this year. They will be a tough out come playoff time.

Long Pigs were led by Guy Pistone. Guy is unassumingly a menace on the defensive glass. He finished the game with 25p/10R. Long Pigs were in it for most of the game. If a couple of possessions go a different way we could be completely having a different conversation.

Excited to see how both teams fare as we continue along with the season.

Eastie Hoops 43  Draft Kings 41

Old School Eastern Conference OT Thriller

Easily the most competitive game of the evening. What this game lacked in scoring, for sure was made up for in competitive fire. Neither team could find a consistent rhythm offensively really all game but the defense and Chisom Nnadi continually screaming "They're tired" made for an interesting game. This game was 22-17 at halftime with Draft Kings up. In the second half, Eastie was able to make some timely buckets. Chisom made some tough shots to help power this game and bring it to overtime He led the way for Eastie with 16 points.

At the end of regulation, the score was 41-41. The overtime session came and was at a stalemate until the very end, Eastie gets fouled(I Forgot who exactly, I apologize)made the free throws, and was able to hold on and win the game. Looking good for Draft Kings was Trevor Britton. He has a real nose for the ball and finished the game with a nice Double-Double with 13P/13R.

Both teams seem very solid defensively. Excited to see how the offense will flow for both of these teams going forward.
