Flex take 18 point win from Drip Lords

This game began close and The Flex ran away with it towards the end. The Drip Lords took an early 0-7 lead and looked good for the night . They held their lead until 22–19 with 6 minutes left in the first. The two teams tie at 25 with 2:24 left and The Flex end the half up three points at 32-29. E.Bennett grabbed 9 first half rebounds while Mann showed dominance on the offensive side of rebounding, especially with free throws. Beach showed his two way capabilities by collecting a steal and block while staying active on the offensive side of the ball. Nick kept Drip Lords alive in the first half. He recorded 9 rebounds and was aggressive by attacking the basket and getting to the line. Drip Lords’ weakness this game’s first half was rebounding and were able to pick it up in the second half with Franklin ending the game with eight and Nick Tom with nine. The score was at 45-42 with 12 minutes left in the game and Flex took the reigns from there. Mann scores 8 in a row in these last 12 minutes and ended the game with 18 points, 12 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 assists. His second half run sparked a 16 -1 run for the rest of the game.

27 point blow out for New Team New

Fri goes off for 29 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists as NTN defeats Airballs by a convincing twenty seven points. This game was another second half blowout. NTN was up four points at the half 37-33. The Airballs were very aggressive with attacking the basket and grabbing boards. Sam and Alaoul both finished with 13 points and held the pace for the Airballs. Pat Kelly had 9 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 assist in the first half as the main ball handler. Kelly was dangerous from behind the arc and all over the Airballs on defense. Fri also had 17 of his 29 in the first half. Fortunately for NTN, these two weren’t finished and started the next half with a consistent energy. Edgerley, who shot 1/5 from the 3PT in the first half, assisted the second half runaway lead by hitting three of his next five threes. NTN went up 79-54 with 2:38 left and soon after closed the game. Airballs gave a strong first half effort but couldn’t bring the same energy the second half and it shows in the result.

Tune Squad 52  Pylons 58

Pylons hold on to the lead for the 6 point victory.

In this matchup Pylons came out the gate strong and held a lead for most of the game leaving it up to both teams’ effort in the last 90 seconds of the game. The Pylons started this game off great going up 10 points early and end the half up 14. Led by the efforts of Lorden, Swanson and Zlogar, the Pylons were able to aggressively attack the rim, hit threes and rebound. This team has a fair front court/ backcourt balance with MacDonald and Baharozian assisting on the boards. Their ball movement early had Tune Squad finding themselves out of position and struggling with switches. Fortunately for Tune Squad, they were able to bring the game close where they lost in a FT battle. Press was a key player for Tune Squad this game finishing with 21 points and 11 rebounds. He had help from Huynh, 11 points, and Connelly with 10 points, 15 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Tang and Bobby stays aggressive and hit shots in crucial moments. Down 34-44 with 10 minutes left and go on a 15-4 run. The momentum was returned to Pylons with Baharozian’s timely 3 after missing his 5 previous attempts. This coupled with a backcourt by Press swing things back to Pylons where they were able to close it out at the line for the six point win.

Billy Hoyle 65  Silver Tickets 62

Billy Hoyle by 3 in their first close call

Another close game to end the night as Billy Hoyle fought to keep their lead from Silver Tickets and protect their undefeated record. The games starts with a back and forth pace with both teams playing good defense and trying to find their rhythms on offense. Both teams are fast paced, great with playmaking and persistent on defense. Silver Tickets ended the half down four with strong efforts from the whole team. This was consistent with both teams where every player brought something to the game and played hard until last whistle. Cimino stood out this game as the point guard for Silver as he finished with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. He was finding his guys in their spots and be aggressive when necessary. Masso and both Fagan spread the floor well, filling in the lanes for quick 2’s and efficiently putting up the three ball. Charlie also added 5 assists to his stat line. Barber led the team with 16 points and played great defense on sharp shooter J.Flaherty who still found a way to go 5/10 from the arc. The game ends at 65-62 Billy Hoyle and was at 63-61 with 36 seconds left. Frankel sealed it off with clutch free throws. For Billy Hoyle, Coy went off for 26 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. Coy finds a way week after week to put up good numbers with the help of the team. J.Flaherty, though not much scoring in the paint this game, was still 5/9 from the arc with an additional 12 points and 12 rebounds from Zuk. These players game styles flow together making it easier to sync on the court. Mike was aggressive on the boards as usual and gives his effort every play to the whistle while you’ll always find Frankel stealing and assisting his teammates and taking the open shot if needed. Billy Hoyle slid by with this 3 point victory, but it’s fair to say Silver Tickets put up a great fight despite missing their sharpshooters Macphearson and Lisoski.
