Appreciate all the chatter leading to round 1, after which nobody really cares anymore and disappears until next session's combine. So kudos for the back and forth everyone.

Sneaking my awards in at the proverbial buzzer

MVP: Nestler

DPOY: Nestler

OPOY: Billy

GMOY: Noah

Most Improved: Kenny V

ROY: Spadaro

Austin's Chasmanian Devil: Liam

POWER RANKINGS headed into round 1 (not based on record, based on who I think has the best --> worst chances to win it all):

1. Moose

2. Early Bird

3. Born to Run

4. Kenny V

5. Undisputed Era

6. Fish n Ships

7. Jacob's Ladder

8. MD Camacho

Whoa hold on, Austin and Chas, you guys split league coverage. You've gotta discuss and come to a consensus together if you're going to give out official awards. I will retract my MVP acceptance speech for now, in case Nestler (a deserving candidate) is named the true league MVP.

Nah man what makes this work is how differently Chas and I approach this...Comin in here tryin to make the B Draft coverage rules all of a sudden. There’s no official record of mvps. A vague memory at best.

Also it's more fun this way maybe -- now everyone gets to decide who's coverage they trust more.

What an epic COLLAPSE last night by Billy Jackson.

FIRST TIME IN B DRAFT HISTORY that a #1 Seed with the reigning MVP has just TOTALLY BLOWN IT and lost to a #8 seed in the first round.

Word from his teammates and others in attendance was that "winning" the unofficial Chas only 50% MVP (Billy, if you add to your signature please make sure you specify you won the Chas MVP) got to his head and he tried to do too much last night.

You *hate* to see it.

Not going to lie that was one of the most incredible nights In B draft history, every team battled and put it all on the line , no one should be hanging their heads.

Game 1: Mirza kept Camacho in the game for a good chunk , but Nestler/Stat were just to dominant and the cruised yo victory

Game 2: Fish had attendance issues with no Chuck/ Vjorde but they gave us we could handle , and DarthLeblanc tried to ruin my season , but Lefty , Leftied down the stretch and we secured the win

Game 3: This was one of the most entertaining/ enjoyable games I have ever watched, yes Moose didn’t play up to their level , but their effort was balls to the wall , but I warned them the Kap effect is a real thing and they got Kaped !!!!!

Game 4; Another thriller you had Manny hitting a falling down deep 3 to tie it at the half, as Manny / Paris were balling looked like they just might pull away with some late Jesse 3”s but Cavano was in Will Farrell debate black out mode as he hit 8/9 from 3. This game care down to the final possession, Tenney rise up deep from three and that shit was cash money

Final Four !

Kenny vs ERA

BTR vs Early

Those aren't the right matchups.

You don't reseed, so winner of 1v8 plays winner of 4v5 and winner of 2v7 plays winner of 3v6.

So it's us vs Chas and Kap vs. Tenney

Harry was so drunk on victory that he probably couldn't form a complete sentence--let alone a proper playoff bracket.

All jokes aside, great game by Kap, Cawley & co. Justin absoilutely killed us in the first half, and they showed very good 1-2 passes off of switches to get Harry his open buckets down low. We got into a hole and never fully recovered. A well-deserved win.

I felt like we played our asses off, but just couldn't get some things to fall.  I'll miss this team a lot--one of the best I've been a part of.

If we re-seeded, then we'd be playing you, but yes, you are correct.

For some reason I thought Chas was the 4 seed and Ian was the 5th. Oh well, at least Chas is free of me. For now...…...

1) I'm gonna go ahead and say that's probably not true

2) Noah actually would spend the hours required to comb through all the seasons and forum award posts of B Draft History to determine if that is true that way he could make a forum post.  So maybe it is true.

3) Its all moot because I'm not the MVP!  You conveniently ignored my retraction of accepting the award.  I mean come on, I don't think you truly think I was the regular season MVP over your boy Nestler, do you Noah?  😉  If so, you can always just publicly say so.

This is harsh and untrue. "COLLAPSE" is the wrong word. They played a team that was much better than their record and it was a hard fought battle throughout.

Also, it wasn't Billy's fault. Sometimes you just get KAPPED and there is nothing you can about it.

You have been there Noah!

Early Birds Send Camacho Home……………. Early

Camacho came literally limping into this game as there was no KD/Solis and Isaac was there but prob moving around at like 60 %, giant balls by him to give it a go. Stat got things going right away as he missed the layup, stuck with it and got 2, before we knew it it was 5-0 as Stat found Nestler for 3, it was 7-0 as I was starting to cover my eyes as Nestler finished in transition. Camacho finally got on the board with Spadaro finding Mirza for 2. Camacho was not playing scrappy enough early as Nestler with no one near him nailed a jumper, then Gans cashed a deep walk up 3 it was 12-2 with 16:23 on the clock. Mirza would find his stroke for trey ball land as he got one to go 12-5 Early Birdies. Nestler responded with a tough take to the rack, but Mirza  was starting to feel it as he hit another 3, letting his team hang around it was 14-8 with 14 min to go in the half. STAT  wasn’t having it as he slashed in for 2, Nestler followed that up with an O board finish. Mirza  would explode for 2 straight 3’s, Spadaro  finally got himself in the scorers column with an up n under suddenly it was 21-17 with 7 min to go. Early was not letting the upset happen as they ripped off a 7-o run capped off by Noah coverting a wide open 3 it was 28-17. Spadaro/Nate trade some filthy takes to the rack, but the half belonged to Early as we closd it out with the score at 35-21.

Isaac got cooking in the 2nd half as he got to the rack to start it 35-23. Isaac would swipe a steal and then finish, then he buried a 3 ball, what a run! It was 35-28!. Gans went 1-2 from the line to calm things, STAT was in full attack mode as he got the lead back to 10 as it was 38-28. Mirza scrapped for a tough down low bucket 38-30 with 15 min to go. Gans cashed a J , but Mirza was not letting his boys go down 46-36. Nestler would rip off 4 straight where he just imposed his will, Spardaro would finally hit a 3 to make it 50-39, but this is when Nasty Nate is his nastiest, as he sliced through for 2 it was 52-39. Stat really just straight took over at this point as he was just too quick for Mirza, and he just took it too him time and time again , the game would never get closer than 13 , and Early cruises to the 2nd round, Camacho can only wonder what could have been if the injuries didn’t ruin their season.

Early

Noah-C- He was not good in this one, is teammates picked him up big time

Nestler-A-Dudes a savage

STAT-A-His best game of the session

Gans-B- He was good, not great

Nate-C-very quiet in this one

Camacho

Issac-A- Gets the A  for being a true captain, and giving it a go hurt

Mirza-B+-Would have been an A but STAT really hurt him to close this one out

Spadaro-C-His worst game since the begging of the season

Tyler-B-Played his role well, fought the whole way

What a Fucking Game

Abrams/Fasano were out for this one , what else is new. Mc1 got his team rolling with a steal and finish, but Jesse found Manny to tie it at 2. Casey converted his matrix jumper, and then Cavano would cash a 3 , and looked might confident shooting it more on this later, it was 7-2 with 16:50 on the clock. Manny found Paris to calm things at 7-4. Keefe  to Paris after an o board, but Cavano hits another 3, somebody should probably guard him ? Even with that Paris was getting easy buckets, and then Manny cashed the 3 ball suddenly Ladder was up 13-10 with 12:10 to go in the half. Tenney slashed through for 2, but Paris was really establishing himself down low as it was 15-12. The Grim Reeper  was in full effect as he would razzle dazzle for a filthy take, Keefe would go 2-2 from the line and Ladder was trying to pull away, but Weinstein would finally start to wake up with the jumper 19-14. Cavano open again for 3 ……cash, Ottomatic would respond with the J , but BTR would rip off a 5-0 run, as Casey sliced his way in , capped off by yet again another Cavano 3 ball, someone guard him! BTR takes the lead 22-21. The Reeper was locked in as he cashed another 3 24-22 Ladder but Weinstein knotted it up at 24 with just 4:30 to go in the half. Both teams would keep pace with eachother, throwing haymaker after haymaker, the lead would never creep past 2-3 , as this was true gridlock playoff basketball at its best, this incredible half would end with Manny converting a falling out of bounce 3 ball at the buzzer to tie it at 39 holy moly!!!!!!!!!!!!

Weinstein right away to start the 2nd half 41-39, but Keefe went 2-2 from the line to keep the tie at 41-41. Manny found Paris for a rare 3 ball they were up 44-41, Jesse would follow that with a bang bang 3, and then nailed another it was 50-41. Out of a timeout Mc1 would convert and an 1 to pull them back to 50-44 with 15:40 to go in this great game. Manny was balling as he got the lay in to go, but BTR had no quit as Weinstein hits another jumper, and then Mc1 hit a 3 it was 52-49 Ladders till up though. Manny dimed up Paris to extend their lead 55-49 with 12 min on the clock. Yup you guessed it another Cavano 3 made it 55-52, this fueled a great run for BTR with Casey hitting another crazy shot, Cavano  hitting another fucking 3, but Manny/Paris were doing an amazing job exploiting their size advantage we were locked in at 67-67. Late in the game there was a tech called on Casey  for an intentional foul, to be fair the ref said he was gonna call it on Harry  earlier in the night, but Ladder was only able to get 1 point off of it, as Casey flew to the rack BTR had the lead 69-68. Manny was in MVP form as he converted a huge and 1 71-69 ladder had the lead ! Ladder would get a stop and looked like all they had to do is hold the ball and hit some free throws, but Manny who rarely turns the ball over through a very bad pass that got picked and led to you guessed a Cavano 333333333333! It was 72-71 BTR. Ladder would show some resolve as Paris tied it at the line. This game came down to the last possession, the clock hit the 5 sec mark Casey  made his move , from wayyyyy out, he let it go it was …………………GOOOOOOODDDDDDDDDDDDDDD, BTR moves on in one of the best games I have ever covered. 75-72

BTR

Mc1-B-) Huge plays in the 2nd half to get his back in, but they will need 40 min of that

Casey-B+- Saved his best for the biggest moments , what a fucking great shot

Cavano-A+-Was the reason they even had a chance , 8/9 from 3 is just not normal , holy fuck

Weinstein-B- Was solid, they will need him to be a bit better to win this whole thing

Zack-C-Very quiet

Ladder

Jesse-A-)Had the fire going, nailing 4 2nd half 3’s , but needed to make an adjustment on Cavano

Manny-B-Insane stat line, but did have the crucial TO, and when he didn’t run back Cavano made him pay every time, and his FT shooting 2-8 allowed BTR to get back in it

Paris-B+- Jake was solid, dominated at times

Keefe-C-Not enough

Ott-C-not his best
