Since by #B1West league doesn’t start for another week you’ve got a Tibbs Cameo week 1. That means you’ll have a live-stream of the games on youtube, follow along on twitter for the links, share them with the fan bases, etc etc. Who you will have week 2 and going forward is still a mystery to me but we’ll figure that out.

All games at Cabot School (229 Cabot St – Newton) this season. Let’s get to the rankings shall we?!

8 – Southie Ringers – Projected Record 3-6 – Woah woah woah, a rookie team with a projected 3-6 record? With no known superstar CAC Players? Seems pretty bold if you ask me. But then again, you’re not supposed to see the Ringers before they show up and wipe the floor with you. Then I get complaints in my email like “waaa they brought a guy that we didn’t know they had” etc etc. I’ve got them winning weeks 4, 6 & 7. No idea why.

7 – Soup-a-Stars – Projected Record 3-6 – Why am I so enamored with the Tuesday version of the Soup-a-Stars franchise but not the Wednesday? I honestly have no clue! The rosters are very similar, I suppose MacIsaac and Werrick make a huge difference for the Tuesday nights and they’re not here. No idea if the new guys can put the ball in the hoop so here’s where they land.

6 – High School Harrys – Projected Record 3-6 – Are the Harrys insulting us by insinuating that none of us can leave behind the adolescent thrill of putting a ball through a cylinder? Or are they acknowledge their own inability to leave the time loop behind themselves? Either way I’m excited for the debut of Colby Smith of Brandeis fame. Averaging 4 ppg in your college career probably makes you the best guard in this league. I feel like i’m selling this team a little short  !

5 – DCL Delicacies – Projected Record 4-5 – I don’t know why I have them here, I don’t know why I have them winning 4 games.

4 – Bucket Boys – Projected Record 4-5 – The biggest question each week will be who shows for the Bucket Boys. Attendance was understandably hit or miss in the summer season (that’s why we almost never run leagues that slide into August during normal years). Will Bannon AND Murk be in attendance most weeks? If Ahmed is there to be one of the best 3rd options in the league they are incredibly dangerous. If not? Another up and down season could be on the horizon.

3 – We Goin’ Sizzla – Projected Record 4-5 – Even these modest expectations seem to high for Harry’s team. The roster is really short. I like both Sutton and Nestler’s games pre-covid, but they’re going to clog the paint. Who’s going to space the floor on this team? I know Talbot’s player profile says he’s a #CACreer 44% 3 point shooter but he’s never had a stat-keeper as good as me tracking his misses. No doubt he’ll be better than league average, but if he’s the only guy that team’s focus on points could be hard to come by.

2 – Hot Dad Summer – Projected Record 7-2 – I like it when I have a ranking in my mind and then my projected records back it up. I saw a top heavy league with a lot of 2nd tier teams fighting it out below them. Now, there are a LOT of unknowns, but Billy returns a team that was on the cusp of a championship last season. That’s always a great way to start the season. There are so many good players on this team, and it even has Kap! Good luck beating this team of vets that have seen it all at this point.

1 – Bada Bing – Projected Record 8-1 – The champs are back!! They survived a 5 OT thriller in the Summer semi-finals and then came back from an early 12 point hole to win the title. You should NEVER expect this team not to compete, no matter the grim circumstances. They’ve got so many ways to hurt you that even when Mazz is taking bad shots it doesn’t hurt their offense too much. And when they’re locked in on D ? Forget it! I can’t wait to see if last season’s championship galvanizes this squad in a push to repeat, or tears them apart. Ouellette deserves more shots, but will he get them? Cawley was the finals MVP but Zak still gets the most press. Koller doesn’t get any respect in the media and never will, so why bother? Yea, should be a great season!

Week 1 Lines

6 PM Bada Bing vs Hot Dad Summer (+3.5) – What a banger to open the season! The last time these teams met they played a 5 OT barnburner!! Really hoping we don’t start the season off with one of those tonight.

7 PM Soup-A-Stars vs Bucket Boys (-6.5) – Who’s in for the Bucket Boys? That will be the question each week.

8 PM High School Harrys vs We Goin’ Sizzla (-8.5) – I know i’ve set the line to favor Harry’s squad but i really really hope they fail to live up to even these modest expectations.

9 PM DCL Delicacies vs South Ringers (+8.5) – I love it when rookie squads face off! This line, as are much of the rankings, is totally arbitrary. As long as everyone is wearing jerseys tonight I’ll be happy. Good luck to all the squads tonight! Hit me up with any questions while I’m on the scoreboard, I can multitask, I promise. Oh but DON’T question the score, that’s always correct. #beststatkeeperalive
