We’re in Waltham this season in the West AND we don’t start until 9/20, but here’s a quick power rankings as we head into the season and I throw together to include it in the league intro emails.

We’ve got a 6 team league and I can’t tell if it’s any good or not. I think it is? I could do some research I guess, but ignorance has never stopped me before.

6 – ORANGE – I know this squad struggled mightily in the Summer and I don’t see any major upgrades to the roster, which means they get the rare and dubious distinction of being a returning team that’s ranked BELOW a (mostly) rookie squad. You don’t see that every season.

5 – Tomahawks – I know I am VERY excited for the return of Ian McGuiness. I last saw him tearing up the tiny court at WSNS so seeing him roam free on the big court should be a delight. You guys are going to love the court, the hike out to Waltham will be worth it. It’s big, the floor is nice, there’s a scoreboard on the wall AND you get my live-streams and live-tweets. What more could you possibly ask for??

4 – B’low The Rim – I think Joe Daniels-Mulholland has an interesting team put together here. I don’t know if it has enough firepower to hang with the big boys in the league, but they will certainly get after it defensively

3 – Long Pigs – I know this is my sleeper pick to win the league if Drew can get good attendance from the crew. Remember, in a smaller league (less than 8), fewer teams make the playoffs (4) so those regular season missed games can mean a lot if they lead to losses! I’m excited to see a big doofy OG Mulholland again, even if it is John.

2 – Girth Brooks – I know that can’t be Cooper Ainge’s name I see? Well shit, I hope the rest of the league is ready for that. I did no googling, no question asking, nothing to form this power rankings. I’m all gut instinct .

1 – Shoot It Coward – I guess? This seems like a pretty bleh roster to have ranked as the top dog in the league. Sure they’ve got championship experience pouring out their asses but jesus I hope they don’t walk all over the league. That will make my coverage insufferable or nonexistent. TBD but I bet you can guess which.

WEEK 1 is 9/20 due to roof construction
