Your King here graciously filling in to cover this week 3 match-up between the undefeated Hart Foundation and the 1-1 Corporation. Chas’s squad had everyone ready and able at the start, while the Corp was missing Andre, at least to start. TO THE ACTION!

I got my first real look at rookie John Lithio and he looked every bit as good as advertised. He’s strong off the dribble and rises up smoothly for 3s, what a terror out there. JDM, was guarding him, but man he was taking him to the woodshed. The only good thing Mazz did all game was pass to him, which is where he got all of his assists from. Mazz, had eight first half assists and Lithio had 23 first half points. However, they didn’t look too hot defensively.

The Hart Foundation came out cashing in the first half. JDM, had 10 first half points, off some nice cuts and mid-range Js. Brett, would hit a couple treys and put in work inside the paint, with some tough finishes. He also picked up his third foul though, but that didn’t end up mattering. The world’s smallest bench, Chas and Jet would even combine for 10 first points. Safe to say the Hart Foundation was having their way with the Corp on the offensive end. They do a lot of moving and sometimes it can be confusing for the other team to communicate and find their man. The Hart Foundation had a sexy 12 first half assists, the ball was zipping around.

The Hart Foundation went into he half up 46-38. Lots of buckets for both teams, but not many stops. Somehow the Corporation only managed 4 first half rebounds, which seems impossible for a half, but here we are. Lithio was carrying them having 23 of the team’s 38 points, would Mazz and Cawley be able to lighten the load for their star? BACK TO THE ACTION!

The game finally slowed down a bit from its hectic scoring every possession as teams started to tire and throw up bricks. The Hart Foundation wasn’t having as much luck in this half as they did the previous with their ball movement and scoring. Chas, especially had some questionable possessions dribbling around the court with no purpose. Brett, went ice cold from the field too, which is a bad sign for these guy. Lucky for them, Djordje and JDM would stay consistent with the scoring. JDM and Djordje combined for 20 of the team’s 30 second half points.

As for the Corp, the first half would mirror the second half, with Lithio doing all the work as Mazz chucked up brick after brick from 3 and Cawley went missing. Speaking of Cawley, what an absolute waste he is on this team. I don’t know Lithio shooting every time he touches the ball and Mazz had mostly OK looks from deep, but Cawley was barely involved in this offense. 9 points for Cawley in a competitive game is horrible.

Around the halfway mark of the second half, the Corp would take the lead thanks to Lithio and only Lithio, who was torching everyone on the Hart Foundation. The lead didn’t last long though as the Hart Foundation would fight back thanks to timely JDM and Djordje put-backs. It was around this point that Chas picked up his fourth foul and was sent to the bench. Naturally, this led to his team extending the lead back to two possessions and then we went to free throws. HF, got the lead to 8 and I thought the game was over, but Jet fouled Lithio from 3. He made 1, missed the other 2, but Mazz got the board and hit a 3. Chas, back in the game who go to the line, hit 1-2 and then Jet stole the inbounds to close it out. 76-72 Final

Grades

Armstrong C: Mullet game was strong and hit some clutch free throws, BUT having no made FGs in the second half is unacceptable.

Djordje A: He makes Post Harry want to vomit, but he got the job done in this game with some clutch put-backs.

JDM A-: I mean, he got worked on defense, but I suspect many will by Lithio. He still hit some big shots that his team really needed.

Craig B+: I liked what I saw from the sexier brother of Keith. He hit some nice Js and had a couple dimes.

Chas C+: He had some questionable decisions, but I’ll give him a plus for not fouling out.

Jet A: I thought the Jet played very well in limited minutes.

Corp

Mazz D: His line ended up ok, but he didn’t play well. His shooting was off and I question his philosophy of never using Cawley on offense.

Lithio A: He had 40, but I question the 0 assists, so no plus. Pass to your friends.

Cawley D-: What a stinker from Cawley, he’s wasted on this team.

JJ A+: Thanks for not dying. JK, I hope he’s ok. He took a nasty spill into the door. His love and dedication to winning knows no bounds

Drew D+: Missed his only looks. They need him to hit them.

Andre B-: Andre played well in limited minutes, very limited minutes.
