Commentary by JONES & JAMIL... No Heroes Among Us 69 TENNEY 101 Andre Jones strikes back TENNEY destruction of No Heroes Among Us has Robel questioning whether or not he got Tibbs’d. Believe it or not, No Heroes Among Us dominated this game in the early minutes. Led by the physicality of Motha (12 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, and 1 steal). Motha was bullying the smaller TENNEY squad and getting easy baskets in the post. Aidan O’Kennedy paced No Heroes Among Us from the guard position, with aggressive drives to the baskets and hard-fought basket. Fast forward 5 minutes, Motha departs the game with No Heroes Among Us leading by 6 and it all goes downhill from there. Brian Civale started heating up from 3. It was actually quite impressive, hand or no hand this dude was stroking it. When NHAU overly contested on the three he drove to the basket for easy layups. Next was Tenney (18 points, 23 rebounds, 10 assists, 1 steal, and 2 blocks), I can’t make this sh$t up. This dude, who carries himself like John Wick (doesn’t smile) is snatching every single board and playing with a level of intensity that only Kevin Garnett could appreciate. This dude was a one-man fast break all night and created a pace that was unobtainable by his opponents. John, not yet. I’ll touch upon your 44 points in a moment. Sticking to the theme, who’s idea was it to have Chris Stull guard Jeff Etienne? I have questions, what constitutes cruel and unusual punishment? Jeff was literally, not figuratively tossing people around in the post. He went on to score 12 points, collect 4 rebounds, got 2 steals, and 2 blocks. As the lead grew, the frustration and agitation became much more evident on the NHAU sidelines. The gameplay also got more physical, I guess if you can’t beat them, then beat them right? No, hacking is never the answer. Aidan and Dan did their best to keep the game within reaching distance, but unfortunately, there were no heroes among them. Tenney’s squad didn’t need a hero, but John obliged anyway to the tune of 44 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 steal. You know you’re on one when you’re hitting fadeaway three. Brian may have got the show started, but John was sure as hell going to finish it, showing no mercy down the stretch. Andre had a very well-rounded game per usual, 4 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals. After losing to a Robel-led squad by 46 on Tuesday, there’s no sweeter revenge than getting payback on Wednesday as TENNEY went on to win by 32 points. Tenney’s team definitely looks dangerous, but even up 32 they barely smiled. Someone should teach these guys how to have fun and don’t give me that shit winning is fun. Great games fellas! I’m not looking forward to playing you.
Franchise Broke 70 XAVIER 56 Xavier truly missed Liam & Joe. Franchise Pulls out the victory.
Franchise: Jamil & Gregg both make a deadly combo with great versatility making an impact both offensively & defensively. Headliners: Jamil: Was an absolute threat from the defensive end with 11 steals. He caused Xavier an absolute migraine. His facilitating was great as well with 11 assists & darn near perfect from the free-throw line 4-4. His final stat line was 12 points, 11 steals, 10 assists & 6 rebounds. Gregg D: Looked like he used to play point guard at one point. He was a terror creating plays for his teammates. Coming away with 8 assists. Greg had 12 points, 8 rebounds & 2 steals. Nick: Was a force inside especially in the second half. He seemed to struggle in the beginning but a large reason for his surgency was due to the play making of both Jamil & Gregg. They both contributed to Nicks 22 points in which 14 of those points were attributed to the pair setting Nick up. Nick walked away with 22 points, 10 rebounds, block & steal. Craig: With his usual contribution of 16 points, 8 rebounds & 2 steals. Ben: Needs to shoot more he has a very good pull up. 8 points, 2 rebounds.
Xavier: Sorely missed both Liam & Joe. They clearly needed their two main ball handlers and it showed. Headliners: James: Was an absolute force as usual but unfortunately it wasn’t enough for team Xavier. 26 points, 13 rebounds, 2 steals & block. Looking like Kevin Love pre-CAVS. Xavier: Struggled without Joe & Liam as he tried to play the point forward role. However, his ball distribution was crucial in dishing out 5 assists he still had 3 turnovers which were caused by the terror that Jamil was causing him. Xavier stat line 13 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists, block & steal. Sean: 7 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, steal & block. Kendall: 3 points, 2 steals, block & assists
Kraft & Friends 84 CAVANO 86 The “HoF!” was just too much. Cavano: Almost looked like they were going to give this game away, but Hof sealed the deal. Ice in his veins. Headliners: Hof: Was the star of this game with his 43 points, 6 rebounds & block. He was an absolute menace. Out there screaming and yelling at refs & opponents like a mad man. He obviously wanted all the smoke and he backed it up especially in the closing minutes. Ben: Looked great this game but his teammate Hof looked even greater. He played exceptionally well. Looks like he might have to take a back seat in MVP votes if Hof keeps his play up. 19 points, 13 rebounds & assists. Chris: The Scottie Pippen of this team was game as usual with 20 rebounds, 15 points, 3 assists, steal & block. He’s the absolute perfect wingman. Andrew: This crafty veteran came through with 9 points & assists.
Kraft & Friends: Pulled right back up in the second half with Joshua Kraft scoring 7 of his 8 made three pointers in the second half. Unfortunately, The “HoF!” was just too much. Headliners: Greg Talbot: Was the true leader of this game despite being the second leading scorer. His complete ball distribution of 8 assists along with his 20 points shows that he is a walking bucket along with keeping his team involved in the game constantly. Joshua: Was on absolute fire in the second half after struggling in the first half. The “Hof!” I believe was getting to him mentally with his constant yelling & chirping at the ref about Josh over aggressive defense which caused him to get into foul trouble early in the game. He struggled with only 5 points in the first half and went 1 for 3 from three-point range. In the second half he absolutely exploded from beyond the arc with 7 made threes which put his team right back into the ball game. I think the switch on defense really helped for him in the second half. He came away 28 points, 5 rebounds & assists. Kevin: 18 points, 6 rebounds, steal, block & assists were an absolute must. He really played big this game. Greg K: Came up big with 11 points going 3 for 3 beyond the arc. His 9 rebounds & 6 assists were a pleasant surprise for his team. Chris Q: Was big on the boards but not big enough to keep C. Cavano from getting his. Chris Q came up with 10 rebounds & 6 points
