It’s been nearly 4 years since O’Cal rolled out the first ever CAC Hall of Fame Class. Since then there has been a lot of discussion about who would be next, how many do we induct and how often do we do this? Well the long wait is finally over! The inaugural class was given the opportunity to vote in who would be joining them in CAC’s most hallowed of halls. The criteria did change a bit this time around. To get on the ballot you had to be around before the CRFC became the CAC, that’s it. Everything else that O’Cal mandated still hell.
- You had to be either a really great player (longevity and consistency are a must) and/or;
- You had to bring some serious flavor to the league and/or;
- You had to put in some serious work to make CAC the best basketball league in this hemisphere.
That still left a lot of worthy recipients and the voters picked 10 CACers who stood out the most in their minds. Without this group, the CAC wouldn’t have started to really flourish from 2004 to 2007.
I’ve taken too much away from the spotlight of these guys. Click the new Hall of Fame yourself, read about the legends and check out their profiles. You should all know by now that you don’t have to be the best baller in the world to get into the Hall, it’s about what you bring both on and off the court!
