BALL 77  BALCERZAK 54

Team Balls soars back against Balcerzak

Team Balcerzak jumped out to an early 18-6 lead against team Ball. Jamil started the game ice cold going 0-4 from 3. Craig continued to showcase his dominance by outscoring team by out scoring the single handedly outscoring the other team 10-6.

Team Ball would start sending double-teams on Craig in the post and team Balcerzak couldn’t find an answer. Jamil’s team would take a 41-38 lead into the half after technical was issued on Balcerzak’s bench for counting down the clock while on defense.

The second half would end up being all team Ball outscoring Balcerzak 36-16 the rest of the way.

After a slow start Jamil would finish with a monster stat line just missing a triple/quadruple double with 31 point, 10 rebounds, 9 assists and 8 steals.

David came up big with 22 points, hitting big 3s in the first half to help his team pull away.

After a hot start, Craig finished with 16 points, 20 rebounds and 5 assists.

Leo and Tim would both contribute with double digit points.

You Got TibbsD displays what true team basketball looks like

This was a super impressive outing for You Got Tibbs'D. STAT led the way with an absolute monster game. The shorthanded Team ORELLANA didn’t have anyone present at today's game that could match up with STAT physically and he made them pay!

STAT finished with 42 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 blocks, and 2 steals. Rob Wood and Mazz did their best, but there was no denying him today. When they doubled team him Matt (7 points and 3 rebounds) and Cameron (13 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists) made them pay.

Moving on to Dylan who played with more energy than I’ve seen in weeks. This dude was absolutely disruptive on defense. With 15 points, 16 rebounds 5 assists, 2 steals, and a block he would not be denied. This is a team that’s building chemistry and looking better each week.

ORELLANA played well despite being shorthanded without subs. Mazz really struggled shooting the three, but he did a fantastic job facilitating and getting to the rim. Despite the final score, they were always within reaching distance but really struggled with getting stops on the defensive end.

It wasn’t Alan's best game, but he played well on both ends of the court. He’d score 16 points and collect 11 rebounds.

All in all, this game would be all about You Got Tibbs'D from start to finish.

Players of the game: Xavier “STAT” Holland

You Got Tibbs'D played fantastic as a team and I would never take away from that, but this game was a true reflection of Xaviers’s dominance. Give that man his roses!

Knowing younger STAT I’d never thought in my life I'd say this, but this was the most unselfish and efficient 40+ point game I have ever witnessed in a CAC league. Marquis Victor is the other and STAT knows all about that dude!

Way to play big dawg!

TAYO 57  Saturday Morning Hangovers 69

Saturday Morning Hangovers look less hungover as they achieve their first win

The much-anticipated matchup of the only winless team left in the #SDL. I was convinced that this would be the first win of the season for Team Sayo and boy was I wrong.

This game started the way it ended, dysfunctional. Miscommunication by Team Sayo on the opening tip resulted in a wide-open uncontested layup by Josh and that lack of chemistry and synergy would be on full display throughout the next 39 minutes and 50 seconds.

Saturday Morning Hangovers captain Shawn Wise set the tone dominating the post. Seyi did his best, but Tayo does not have a player on their team capable of defending Shawn in the post. Shawn finished with 17 points, 13 rebounds, 2 blocks, and steals.

Josh has played amazing all season. He’s been a one-man wrecking ball and he dominated this game from open to close. I’m not sure who was guarding him, but it didn’t really matter as he stuffed the stat sheet to the tune of 34 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 steals, and most importantly led his team to their first victory of the season.

Statistically, Seyi and Seun were the standouts for Team Sayo but this was far from their best game. This team is uber-talented, but a lack of ball movement and team chemistry has hindered them all season.

With both brothers, out for the next couple of it’s going to be hard to build chemistry, but I have no doubt they will rise to the challenge.

Getting back to the winners, Steve Rakusin and Emmanuel Okharedia had strong well rounded games and hit some huge shots that stopped any momentum Team Sayo was building. Shoutout to Tommy Ng for breaking out of his slump and connecting on an absolute dagger to end the game.
