Boss Dawgs 57  A Team Has No Name 64

NO NAME NEEDED FOR WEEK 5 WIN

A Team With No Name pulled out a hard-fought 64-57 win over the Boss Dawgs to take the week 5 victory. A game with a distinct flow throughout it, neither team was truly able to get any true erection for their opponents during runs made throughout the game. However, in the end, a certain nameless team was able to use a run a run to start the second half to get just rough separation for the win, a 14-5 run to start the second half was key to this. The Dawgs  did not go quietly, fighting until the final buzzer sounded

A Team With No Name was led by a big game from Matt “Shawn Kemp” Kenney who had himself a night with 22 points and 15 big boy rebounds. Kevin “Scott  Skiles” Gibbons played the role of floor general for the victors, dishing out 10 assists, while also chipping in 7 points and 9 boards. Ian “Chris Mihm” Murphy was a man amongst slightly smaller men, double-doubling with 15 points and 20 rebounds. This Nameless Team was able to win this game while hitting the same number of threes as the scorekeeper, referees, custodians and lunch ladies combined, 0- a real throwback to an old style basketball game.

The Boss Dawgs followed the lead of Rondell “Michael Finley” Howard who in a losing effort still had 16 points, 9 boards and a pair of assists. Brian “Anthony Parker” Bettie had 16 points and 9 boards of his own while connecting on a quartet of triplets. Nate “Terrell Brandon” Mendes had himself 13 points, 11 boards, and 4 assists, while Brett “Brent Barry”Baghdoyan also double-doubled with 10 points and to rebounds while also dishing out 5 assists.

Careful What You Swish For 59  bb 57

SWISH- THE NOISE OF A COMEBACK

Care What You Swish For pulled off of a miraculous comeback over bb 59-57 in a game where they trailed by as many as 17 and faced a 15 point deficit at the intermission and at the pint they seemed as dead in the water as a state fair goldfish after about an hour. The speed and ball movement of bb was too much for them to handle in the first half. However CWYSF flipped the scrapped on their opposition in the second 22 minutes of action and brought a physicality that wasn't matched their opponents, and a 23 point turnaround with a kite left in regulation saw them up by 6 with under a minute left. However bb would not go quietly and after a pair of threes by Ben Foss-Michaelis, including a crazy-hail Mary- please-go-in-shot banked in we headed to OT tied at 56. A quick three was enough to get the job done for CWYSF in OT as bb could not find a way to match and a last second shot fell off the mark and this barn burner of a game was over.

CWYSF  comeback was headlined by a big game from Anthony “Jamal Mashburn” James who led his team with 20 points and 9 boards a while hitting a pair of threes. Arsenio“Josh Howard” Delarosa was also big, facilitating his team's offense and putting up 15 points to go along with 4 boards and 4 assists. Ed “Metta World Peace” Duran played some ferocious D while also scoring 12 and big man Luigi “Ronny Turiaf” Sanon pulled down 12 rebounds coming off the pine. The physicality and will to win is what drove CWYSF to get this W.

A valiant bb squad was led by the sharp shooting of Ben “Jason Kapono” Foss-Michaelis who had 22 points and 6 threes, including the buzzer beater to force OT. Xavier “Sherwood Brown-FGCU” did it all for his team, grabbing 17 rebounds and dishing out 10 assists while also scoring 6 of his own. Yancy “DeJuan Blair” Brown had himself 19 points and 15 boards while looking to play the role of one man break every team he got the rebound. A great 1st half of ball movement saw bb with 13 assists on all 13 of their first-half baskets.

The Super Hoopers were able to defeat Smegma 66-56 to close out week 5 of basketball. This game saw both teams going back and forth in the first half throwing haymakers at one another with neither team able to gain a real advantage.
