Middlesex Magic wins second straight title
    Market 54 Middlesex Magic 60

Middlesex Magic earned their second straight title with a close and hard-fought 60-54 victory over Market on Tuesday night.

In the first half, a great reverse layup from Jason O’Keefe put Middlesex Magic up 7-4. A steal and a layup from Zach Ray had the lead up to 11-4. Market finally got it going and took the lead at 18-17 on a triple from the wing for Brandon Ball. Both teams kept missing huge shots and trading baskets before O’Keefe hit a layup off a Market turnover in the final seconds of the half to take the 29-25 edge.

Middlesex Magic came out on all cylinders in the second half. The lead ballooned to 35-25 after a great look inside to Robert Stockwell. A couple putbacks from Shane Brunette brought Market back into the game at 35-30. A breakaway layup for Tony Barros cut the lead to one at 41-40. Ray hit a three-point shot from the top of the arc to make it 44-40.  Barros hit his third triple of the game to tie the game 51-51. Middlesex Magic hit 6-of-8 free throws down the stretch to put this game away.

O’Keefe led all scorers with 19 points. Ray added 15 points and a game-high five steals.

Barros had a team-high 18 points, but only hit 3-of-9 from behind the arc. Ball finished with 17 points.
