Fall 2016: A 5v5 League Champs: Gummy Bears

Gummy Bears win it all in the game of the night.
    Gummy Bears 79 Zards 77

In the highly anticipated final game of the night we had the Gummy Bears vs the Zards for all the marbles. I was really excited to watch this game to see who win come out on top. Fundemental basketball vs pure talent and ability on the court.

Lets hop right into with the key matchup of the night. From jump we had both teams best players going at it. Guarding one another on both ends of the floor it was really something to see.

Guard #25 Xavier of the Gummy bears and #43 Mike of the Zards. Xavier was using his speed and quickness to hit step backs and blow by his defender while on the other side center #43 Mike was using his size and and his post game to get easy buckets under the rim.

But as everyone knows basketball is a team game and for the Zards the rest of the team really didn't show up for their teammate. They had spurts here and there but nothing ever consistent. Basketball is also a game of runs, and the zards maybe had two or three of those runs throughout the game.

As for the Gummy Bears you can see and feel their comradery and belief in one another. You had huge inputs from all pieces of the team. #2 Eric had a big game with 22 points. Knocking down big shots when needed. #11 Connor didn't have a particularly good shooting night but just the thread of his shot ability was enough to keep the defesnse on guard at all times. The size and stregnth on the low block grabbing offesive boards. It was just too much Gummy Bears snd not enough Zards.

Keys to victory; The Gummy Bears wanted it more. They out hustled, out manned and flat out out played the oppsing team. They deserved to call themselves champs at the end of the night
