Wizards Fly Past Lotion in the Basket

After a 10-0 run by the Wizards to start the game, Lotion in the Basket could do very little to reclaim the momentum Thursday night. Outmatched on both ends of the floor, LintheB fell 82-43, and were outrebounded 41-20.

Billy Fratelli scored the first basket of the night for LintheB around the 17-minute mark. From there, Lotion in the Basket was able to get within 16 of the Wizards at 28-12. But the Wizards went on a quick 2-minute, 8-0 run to increase their lead to 24 with 6 minutes left to play in the first. They ended the half up 48-26.

Mark Phillips went on tear in the second half, tallying 14 of his totall 22 points and 9 of his 16 rebounds for the Wizards. Michael Kearney added 15 points, 5 assists and 4 steals in the game. Fratelli was the high scorer for Lotion in the Basket with 15 points, but Wizards were too much to handle.

School of Rock 65  Big Tickets 70

Arcoma and Max Rally Over School of Rock

Ben Max and Peter Arcoma combined for 45 of the Big Tickets’ 70 points Thursday night, grabbing a 5-point win from the School of Rock.

Scoring in the first half was close, with the School of Rock’s Tim Rupert tying the game at 9 with 14:30 left to go. Rupert then sank two free throws to give his team the lead. But Arcoma answered with a bucket of his own, tying the game again at 11.

At the 7-minute mark, Max hit a 3 to go ahead 21-17. Capitalizing on a true 3-point play, Rupert made the score 21-20. The Big Tickets then went on a run, and ended the half up 38-30.

The School of Rock cut the lead to just 4 in the opening minutes of the second half, then after trading baskets for a few, the lead was cut to just 2 at the 11-minute mark. Rupert tied the game at 50 with a layup that was quickly answered by Graham Chapman. School of Rock’s Jessie Belden then fouled Arcoma, who converted a foul shot for another 3-point play. With 7 minutes left to go, the Big Tickets led 59-52, and the rest, they say, is history.

Rupert ended the game with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists for the School of Rock. Aaron Lassanske added 13.
