Fall 2009: B1 League Champs: Separated At Birth

SAB Wins East in Convincing Fashion
Separated At Birth 83 Bone Crushers 77

You know, if you consider leading by as many as 17 in the second half over the popular pick to win the East, convincing.  I certainly do.  All doubts were laid to rest in this game as Separated at Birth put on a clinic over the Bone Crushers to win the East and await the challenger that would come out of the West.

How'd they do it? Well a close game was absolutely blown open in the second half thanks to DRuff and James Evans starting 5 for 5 from downtown.  In a matter of seconds the Crushers went from "still in this thing" to "shell-shocked". It was sureal.  Neither did anything for the first 20 minutes.  Everyone gets a drink of water, catches their breath, changes ends, and all of a sudden the light switch comes on.  This was after the Mytrocity had carried them with 18 points the first 20 minutes. Caddy just could not stay in front of him, so SAB fed the Beast.  With Larkin's steady hand leading the way in both halves, this was the most all around, complete game that SAB played since early in the season, and at the perfect time, to clinch the B1 East.

You've got to give some credit to the Crushers though, they made a valient attempt at a comeback.  They can put up points in bunches as well, and Bobby C led the way with a strong effort, leading all scorers with 32 points.   IKil added some points late to make the final score look respectablie, but all and all the D did a great job at keeping him in check all night long.  We now know that SAB will take on Count It in the Unification Game 12/16 @ 9:20 PM.
