Spring 2006: B1 League Champs: Kool Aid

Finn Carries the Load Again Kool Aid onto the Unification Game
    Kool Aid 80 Off 73

Kool Aid, easily the best # 7 seed to ever grace the floor at CRFC, never trailed after the opening minutes and was in control the whole way.  For the second straight week, Local Hero Ed Finn (36 points, 6 assists) lifted the offense onto his shoulders and didn't fail to deliver.  Despite worries that his game might be effected due to late night partying, the Local Hero came through once again.  Chris Adams (9 points, 6 rebounds) was hustling all over the floor and doing the little things to help give his team the early lead.  Jon "MVP" Mazzone (27 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists) was nearly as unstopable.  Whether it was knocking down the long j, or driving to the hoop, Off's defense had no answer for him.  His battle with Chris Williams (20 points, 8 assists) was a sight to behold.  When Williams wasn't able to back Mazzone down, his smart passing out of the post was what kept Off close.  Chris Green (19 points, 4 rebounds) and Troy Hatleving (16 points) both contributed to the offensive effort.  In the end, Kool Aid simply went to the free throw line too many times.  They took advantage of 40 trips to the line by hitting 34 (20-22 from Ed).  After a great regular season from Off, they fall just short of their goal and should they return next season, will be one of the preseason favorites.  Kool Aid represtents the East in the Unification Game  (Wednesday @ 6) after a great season that saw them dominate thier opponents in the playoffs.  Don't let us down boys.
