SAIKI wins Co-Ed Title
KaBoom 64 Sexy And I Know It 74
We\'ve made it to the final game in the Fall Session for the Co-Ed League! The Championship Game between the top two teams in the league went toe to toe for rights to call themselves champion. Thande\'s KaBoom and Wantman\'s Sexy And I Know It (who was Wantman-less), played their asses off in a knock down drag out game.
The first half started as expected with both teams going back and forth. All was good and it was looking like it was going to be a tight game, until Eliason went down with a leg injury. He banged his knee hard on the hardwood with what seemed to be a charlie horse combination from Vu and he was done for the night. KaBoom\'s advantage was immediately gone as the lack of a big evened out the playing field for SAIKI. The void left by Eliason had left the door open for a quick guard like Newton to allow him to attack and attack and attack. And attack he did, he helped his team gain a 32-25 lead at halftime.
KaBoom wouldn\'t go away easy despite losing their big man in the first half. Mouligne and Swecker was keeping them as close as possible with Taliaferro adding 16 of his own. Robinson\'s 14 was a big help in maintaining the lead for SAIKI, despite her 3/15 shooting from downtown. Minor hit a few big shots and a huge run from SAIKI allowed them to stretch the lead to 15. KaBoom tried their best to keep up but Newton was too much as they went on to win 74-64 to be crowned Co-Ed Champions for the Fall Season!

Commentary by FRANK CHAMP... Band of Misfits 86 Rain Dance 88 Season kicks off with a nail biter Unfortunately, the original write-up I had for your league has been lost, but I'll try to recall everything I remember from last Monday night. BoM and RD were going back and forth for the entire first half and they seemed to be in mid-season form from the tip-off. Both teams were finding the bottom of the net easily, especially Frouin of BoM and Kearney of RD. Both guys had 18 and 15 at the half, and despite the greater support coming from Rohman and Cox for BoM, they found themselves down 43-44. The second half was just as competitive as neither team could get a lead bigger than 8. RD had a 5 point lead when Frouin knocked down a three to cut it to 2. BoM just ran out of time in the end and RD snuck away with an 88-86 victory. Great game played between two teams who should be fighting for a championship at the end of the season.

Shoot N Rally 44 Sexy And I Know It 72 Newton's 22/25 game helps SAIKI handle SnR Unfortunately, the original write-up I had for your league has been lost, but I'll try to recall everything I remember from last Monday night. The second game of the night wasn't close at all. The band is back together as Wantman, Baranowski, Robinson and Newton are all back on the same squad for Sexy And I Know It. They automatically become major players in the Co-Ed ranks that doesn't have a Wheels of Steel/Flat Tires team. On Monday they took SnR to the woodshed as Newton and co. went to work from the get go. They had a rough start to begin the game, but from then on, it was like clockwork. By the half, they held SnR to only 13 points, while dropping 29 of their own. In the second half, Robinson went off dropping 26 of her 30 points on 6-12 shooting from downtown. Newcomer Kia Minor added 14 and 4 boards of her own in her first CAC game ever as SAIKI decimated SnR to the tune of 72-44. Player of the Game: Terrel Newton 22 pts, 25 rebs, 7 asts, 4 stls, 3 blks

The last game of the night was between the two-time champion BOOM franchise going up against Dustin Williams' Dribble Penetration. The game was in DP's hands for the majority of the first half, holding a double digit lead. Mouligne came in late in the first half and provided a little fire power come the second half. KaBoom had the size in Jeff Eliason and they rode him to the wheels fell off. His 28 and 15 helped KaBoom rally back in the second half allowing them to grab a 66-58 victory.
Player of the Game: Jeff Eliason 28 pts, 15 rebs, 3 stls
