They Cant Win Without Hof again………..They did

Destination XL had an incredible team performance last week without the Hofy one, so they were thrilled to have him back for this one, wait a second Hof is not in the building, and with Tenney and Hopp in attendance XL looked like they were poised for their first loss. The game started out the Shields way as Harry through a beautiful pass to a cutting Hopp. Cundall “The Scout” looked like filling in earlier that night was helping him, as he came out in rhythm nailing a 3 ball, and also was snatching boards.  The beginning of this game was all about Joel Dennis who was straight DOMINATING out there, playing the best game I have seen him play, he had 7 rebounds in a 2 minute stretch, was also finishing around the rim, an area he has struggled in. Tenney looked just off from the start, didn’t seem to have the same lift on his jumpers as his deep 3 balls were missing the mark time and time again. After a Cawley strong take it was 17-11 XL with 7 min remaining in the first half. Sisko wasn’t putting up points but doing all the dirty work , was the author of 3 steals and 2 O boards. Haddock would come in and make a huge fucking impact in this one, as he savagely was pulling up in Amir’s face , bang!!! With the long trey ball, who needs Hof? Harrys zone sure had his team discombobulated, Tenney looked frustrated as the big’s on XL were having a field day on the boards leading to easy 2nd chance opportunities time , and time again. Cawley would add to the wreckage have a hesi, cross over, dive to the rack that made a mess in young Joel Shaffers pants, he had to go change. It was 34-20 at this point and the Sheild looked left for dead. Tenney finshed with 2 points at the half , 0-6 from 3, Hof would add to the misery as he was 0-5 to start, just crazy , crazy stuff I truly didn’t believe what I was seeing.

Cawley would not take his foot off the gas pedal as he would add a pull up, jumper and yet again another sick drive to help his team further their lead at 40-23, he would even draw a foul ona 3 ball after that to add to the Sheilds mishaps. Something woke up in the Shield at this pint as Tenney dimed up Harry and it looked to spark things for the struggling team. Hopp would add a 4-0 run himself with some nice takes, Tenney stopped settling for jumpers and had a grown ass man to the rack, and the lead was cut in half just like that ! 9 pt game we had a ball game!. Tenney with 2 huge o boards and got fouled on a sick finger role attempt it’s a 7 point game, back from the dead. At this point Mr. Haddock had enough of that shit and splashed 4th 3 of the game. As the Sheild tried to come back , Walker was the stopper , grabbing every board, making heady passes, and playing strong mofuckin D, dude is an animal, just shows the extreme depth of XL. After a bad turnover it spelled the end for the shield, Ian would hit a 3 for Tenneys 5th assist, but it was too little too late, as Joel finished the way he started , hitting 2 straight lay ins and that was about it. 61-49 , XL is very very tough right now.

    Sheild

Tenney-B-)The the best game for the MVP candidate, 5 assist was good but 0-10 from 3 is a very hard spot to put your team in. He is so effective going to the rack, I’d like to see him do that more when the shot is off

Hopp- B-Thought he played with fire the whole game and was a big reason they came back, but the 2-10 from 3 again just kills your team.

Scout-B- Was pretty solid , but seemed to run out of gas, shouldn’t have filled in!

Harry-C- Started well but just disappeared, his zone strategy really seemed to muck things up and made everything messy.

Amir-C-) Got badly outplayed by Haddock, sorry bud

    XL

Cawley-A+- Great leadership , super-efficient, relentless 8-9 from the stripe, just a great game!

    Walker-B+-Solid as a rock 6 O boards, with 4 ast , LOVE this player

Joel-A-)-Best game I’ve seen him play , if he hits his ft’s he gets +.

Sisko-B-Didn’t have to score to make an impact, dirty man , did the dirty work , I loved it

Gone fishing for HADDOCK-A- With no Hof , he delivered exactly what his team needed to the tune of 4 3’s but more impressively had 6 boards.
