People of Walmart Take Game 1 of Franchise Finals
The Blueprint 67 People of Walmart 73
Brought to you by the letter P. As in People of Walmart taking their swasstastic antebellum loathing selves to get enough money orders to cash in on some hideous Black Tuesday performances. Daddy\'s getting a new sweater for Christmas at the expense of some poor dude in the other Philadelphia and Kaplan and Terry get to fight over it.
Oh yeah, People of Walmart. They did the job well enough here, especially in the first half, as they took a 1-0 lead in the best of the three championship series with an impressive 73-67 victory.
Kaplan led his team with 23 points (15 in the first half) while Terry poured in 15 of his 20 point in the first half. Kap and Terry were on for early and it helped P.O.W. seize a 19-point lead in th first half. This felt like it would be a blowout for awhile until it was Enter Wolf time.
The Wolfman can play. He does everything and his charming fiancée is a lifesaver who can run the clock far better than me for the first 2:00. Once he got going, that 19 point lead started dipping really fast. In fact, Brett Royer had a big hand in the The Blueprint comeback as he hit a bunch of shots, finishing with 14 in th first half. Then Mike Weinstein got going, hitting three big shots. Lead was 12 at the half and mojo was dragging this towards The Blueprint\'s direction.
Wolf kept coming as finally Terry picked up his 3rd foul with 15:00 to go. More importantly, The Blueprint kept attacking. Finally, Vladi got his first bucket (after 25:00 of being shutout) as he hit a trey to cut it to 7. And Wolf kept coming. Dude slashes well. Then, you know it goes well when Noah Spaulding gets a clean steal and makes a great play for Nate Mendes to get this thing to 59-58.
Keith Baranowski probably saved The Walmart Crew as he hit two awesome tough tweener shots late while Ruff bopped a big three in the final 4:00. Still, The Blueprint would not go away. Pesky buggers.
Even being down six in the final 1:00, The Blueprint kept getting the easy bucket and Kaplan and Ruff left the door open with missed FTs. It came down to People of Walmart being up three in the final minute. Weinstein got a good look that didn\'t go Dow, but Wolf somehow came up with an awesome offensive board. In the chaos, Weinstein got another very good look that almost went down (both excellent looks), but to no avail. Terry finally got to seal it off in the final :15 by hitting two big FTs. Game over.
People of Walmart up 1-0 in the series over The Blueprint. What happens on December 3rd in Game 2? Gotta find out then... Good stuff, fellas. Keep it up.
