6th Seeded NFW Advances to the Title Game

Two teams coming off of impressive upset wins last week squared off in game 2 of the semifinals. Each of these teams underachieved in the regular season but both were right on the cusp of a title game berth. Early on though, it was NFW who looked like the team that was ready to go.
NFW opened the game with a quick 7-0 run, as Kap knocked down a trey, hit 2 free throws and JET converted a layup. Fast forward a bit and BMul hit his first outside shot since the moon landing and before WFTWU knew what hit them they were down by 10.
WFTWU would settle in though, which surprised no one given the talent on this team. Ron would convert a drive to the rim and Ghost would rip off one of his patented mini runs. WFTWU completely flipped the switch and ripped off an 8-0 run to get right back in this thing. NFW would answer though. Tom would drop a beautiful dime to Carlucci in the fast break that had NFW fired up. Another BMul jumper and a JET floater off the glass got NFW back up by 9 again.
This was really a game of runs now that I think about it. First, NFW. Then, WFTWU. NFW again and yup you guessed it: another WFTWU run! WFTWU would end the half strong and they only trailed by 3 at the break.
NFW ended up controlling the game for pretty much the entire second half. WFTWU found themselves comfortably in the 3-6 point deficit range most of the half but they could never get that 1 key stop to get over the hump. They did threaten big time once though as they cut the deficit to 1 point with 5 minutes to go, but a monster Kap 3 pushed the lead back to 4. On the ensuing possession WFTWU would convert a 2 point shot but this would be the last gasp for WFTWU. Kap was ICE at the charity stripe to close out the game (BMul contributed a 2/2 trip as well) and NFW is moving on the title game.
