WINTER 2026 UPDATES

The WINTER 2026 league sign-up and payment information will be updated as of 11/3. We are starting the season on Monday January 12th. Don’t hesitate to sign yourself or your team up early to make sure there are spots in the league on the night you want to play in. 

As you now all know, CAC Basketball has been a part of Volo Sports Boston since November 2024, and now that partnership takes it’s next step forward as we start to fully integrate into the Volo community. As always, feel free to reach out to Jason@CACBasketball.com with any questions you may have about the upcoming leagues and all the changes that are on the way.

Steps
1. CHOSE: All available options for both teams and individuals are listed at the following link: https://www.volosports.com/Boston
2. REGISTER: everyone must create a new account (yes, another!) through Volo Sports if it is their first time playing with Volo. The easiest way to do so is through the Volo App (Google / Apple).
3. REGISTER: You spot in a league is only guaranteed after you have signed up and paid the league fee. 

FAQ

Q – Are any of these FAQs different?
A – They are different because everything has changed, AGAIN. After introducing Early Bird Registration and Registration Deadline in the Fall 25 season, we’re now switching all registrations and payments over to Volo Sports Tech. That means new platforms, new processes and new ways to get confused and frustrated with the fact that you can’t just step onto the court and hoop. Don’t worry, we’ll guide you through it!

Q – So what’s the deal exactly?
A – In addition to the Volo Tech upgrade, all CAC Basketball Leagues will now use the power of AI to track stats and post video highlights of every game! That’s right, we are very excited to announce a partnership with SportsVisio into 2026 and beyond!

Q – SportsVisio AI stats? Don’t you already track stats? 
A – We do, but this is going to take us to the next level! SportsVisio doesn’t just track stats, you get highlight videos, game summaries, leaderboards and more. After the Registration Deadline players will be able to access all their league content on the SportsVisio app (yes, another!)! 

Q – So all my career stats are gone, again?!? 
A – Only temporarily! SportsVisio will be given access to CAC Basketball’s entire history dating back to 2004, 3 B.T. (Before Tibbs), and not only track all our current leagues, but upload all of our historical data so it’s all in one place! I could not be more excited for this to become a reality.

Q – Anything else?
A – New this season, when you show up to a game you will have to check-in on the Volo app before the tip-off of your game. You’ll also be able to directly provide feedback about your league, refs, court, etc through the app if you choose to. 

Q – Most importantly, are the league fees changing?
A – Yes, league fees have changed across the board. Here’s a table that shows relevant info with dates and prices and changes.

Q – Oh. That’s a big jump for players that have been playing with CAC Basketball for years.
A- It is a big change, but I have lobbied, begged, pleaded and sold my soul (obviously) to lock in a number of discount codes for returning CAC Basketball players for all of our 2026 leagues. Let’s break them down.

Legacy Promo Codes: If you played with CAC Basketball in 2024 or 2025, you’re able to take advantage of Draft and Team fee discounts for all of 2026.

When you register for a league, there is a “Promo Code” box during the sign-up process, enter your code to for the discount. I love tables, so let’s break it down comparing the last two seasons. 

The biggest takeaway from this chart is DO NOT WAIT UNTIL REGISTRATION DAY TO SIGN-UP!

Q – Is the Multi-League Discount for Team Leagues?
A – At this time the Multi-League Discount only applies to players playing in multiple Draft or Dynasty Leagues in the same season, not in one draft league and in one team league.

Q – Wait did you say something about a Dynasty League up there? 
A – We are out to prove that Promotion/Relegation isn’t just for soccer! Stay tuned for more details on the Dynasty League when sign-ups are live

Q – If a League doesn’t happen, what steps do I take to get a refund?
A – You will be given the option to move leagues, accept a credit on a future season or be issues a refund within 5 business days of the league being cancelled.

Q –  I signed up and paid for a Draft League but need to withdraw because I (am moving/injured/don’t feel like playing/can’t) before the registration deadline, can I get a refund?
A – Please see Volo Sport’s Refund Policy for any questions about how refunds will be handled going forward.

Q – How much are jerseys?
A –  Transitioning to the SportsVisio platform will require ALL PLAYERS to wear the same CAC Basketball jersey to games going forward. AI will identify you not on your smoldering good looks, sweet kicks or fresh fade, but by your jersey number. That means even all the old vets that have been around forever and have multiple numbers need to pick a jersey and stick with it for the entire season! This will be strictly enforced in every league so that we get the best possible experience with the SportsVisio tech! The cost of a jersey is $20 and will be paid prior to the start of the season. Jerseys will be delivered to your location on week 1 of the season! Please pay for your jersey and select your jersey size via this Square Link. You are welcome to try and request a jersey number but no promises.

Q – I’ve been playing for a few seasons now, can you just hook me up with a free jersey?
A – .

Q – I constantly ruin/lose/leave my jersey behind at the gym. What can you do for me?
A – Nothing, I can do nothing for you, you’re an adult now, keep track of your stuff. Even I know how to do my own laundry (I’m a man, I’m 40!) come on guy, here are some tips, from someone who still has his very first CRFC Basketball jersey from 2005. Please don’t ask if I can still fit into it though.

1. Make sure that you wash your jersey in cold water, not hot
2. Do not put your jersey in the dryer!
3. Do you wear the number 67? I’m pretty sure that’s indestructible. I know I can’t kill it in my house…

The dryer (and six seeeeeeeeeeeven) is the cause of every ruined CAC Basketball jersey ever. This will never change. Simply hang your jersey up to dry and it will last for years and years.

Q – I want to pay as an individual, can I do that online?
A – If you’re playing in one of our Draft leagues yes!

Q – Follow-up question, does that mean I can MY portion of my team fee online instead of paying my captain, right?
A – The captain that signed up the team online must pay when registering the team. Everyone has Venmo now, stop ignoring your captain’s request, the notification is RIGHT THERE. I know I still have a red dot from 2017 from my sister trying to collect on beer money for Treehouse IPAs she willingly gave me! You can’t send a venmo request for that a week later. She’s never seeing that $48 and I’m never getting rid of that notification.

Q – I paid the team fee online, is the spot for my team saved?
A – Once captains have registered and paid for their league fee online you are locked in for the season! You will then be provided with a link to invite your teammates to the squad. Every must sign-up through the Volo site, read the waivers and Player Code of Conduct and accept the invite.

Q – OK, that seems to be everything I need to know about the upcoming CAC Basketball season. Now I’ll come out and ask, what’s the benefit of this Volo Sports merger?
A – Do you care about making my [Tibbs] life easier? No, didn’t think so, well fine, let’s talk about what this means for YOU
