Putting Baby In a Corner 44  Hoops! I Did It Again 55

Hoops! advances to finals

Thanks to 28 points and 14 rebounds from Jacyln Daigneault, Hoops! I Did It Again defeated Putting Baby In a Corner, 55-44.

Putting Baby In a Corner jumped out to a 6-4 lead on a Lauren Kelly layup through the defense. Hoops! I Did It Again dug out of the hole and led 13-10 on a steal from Daigneault that led to a layup for Livia Rizzo. The teams traded buckets for a while before a couple jumpers in the paint for Lisa Jaris made it 23-18. A Carla Pacione deep two-point jumper at the buzzer made it 27-24 at the half.

Putting Baby In a Corner came out firing to knot the score 30-30 on a Kelly layup. A Hoops! I Did It Again 8-1 run capped by a long two-point field goal from Daigneault made it 38-31. The lead went down to 38-35, but late free throws helped Hoops! I Did It Again pull away.

Aside from Daigneault, Rizzo had 16 points and nine rebounds. Jaris added seven points, eight rebounds and nine assists.

Pacione put in 19 points, six rebounds and six assists. Kelly finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds for the double-double.

La Chouffe Bballers 33  E-Squad 38

E-Squad able to fend off La Chouffe Bballers

E-Squad scored just 10 points in the final nine minutes, but was able to win 38-33 over La Chouffe Bballers on Tuesday night.

In a low-scoring first half, La Chouffe Bballers went out to a 5-2 advantage after a couple free throws from Adrienne Level. A 6-0 run for E-Squad had them up 8-5 after a putback from Alyse Bookman. A Level triple put La Chouffe Bballers up 11-10. The teams had trouble scoring down the stretch, but E-Squad heled a 16-15 edge at the break on a Lauren Cipriani three-point jumper.

In the second half, an Alyssa Regan three-point play had E-Squad up 23-19 in the early going. After tying the game at 23, E-Squad went on a 5-0 run to take a 28-23 lead on a Katie O'Neil floater in the lane. Elizabeth Bowen capped a 6-0 run with a layup off great ball movement to put La Chouffe Bballers in front 29-28. E-Squad ended the contest on a 10-4 run to advance to the finals.

Regan scored a game-high 17 points while grabbing seven rebounds. Cipriani added 10 points and six boards.

For La Chouffe Bballers, Level had a team-high 16 points with eight rebounds, four steals and five blocks.
