For the third straight half of basketball, the Cream offense was stagnant and didn't produce the easy points that they've become accustomed too this season. They were down 11 with the Scorgasms shooting the sh!t out of the ball at every turn getting easy looks. Despite rolling her ankle, KMag was 4-6 from downtown in the first and gamely gimping through a tough defensive assignment against the Rainmaker.
But in the second half, the Scorgasms switched to zone but not before Tuzzolo hit a three to start things out. Well, she did, but it didn't count as PStone waved it off really, really late. Something inside Gripp snapped at that moment and she decided to just take over the game. A hard charging 25-0 run in the first 7 minutes of the second half ended this game with 11 to go. 25-0. Gripp hit 5 straight threes in that run against the 2-2 zone that left her wide, wide open. Catt and Miriam started cutting to the hoop to get easy layups when the zone finally reacted to the outside shooting, and this thing turned on a dime. The rest of the way was Catt feeding her teammates as she ended with a nifty TDub to help Gripp and her 30 spot.
I mean, it got out of hand fast. There was nothing that Loren or Tuzzolo could do to swing the tide. Hopefully the Scorgasms will be at full strength next week, both getting Kaitlin/Court back, and KMag's ankle healing in record time. Oh yea, there will be a rematch, as Cream had the #1 seed locked up, and Scorgasms fell to #4.
