After the timeout, District 5 went on a 17-10 run that cut the lead to 24-23 on a cut to the basket for Laura Matysiak. Dougies responded with a 12-4 run to end the half to take the 36-27 lead.

Off the halftime buzzer, Molly Forbes hit a huge 14-foot jumper that gave Dougies the 38-27 edge. District 5 came back and went on a 17-4 run to take the 44-42 lead on a three from Lauren Kreckie. Kreckie hit another three-point shot to give the lead back to District 5 at 47-44. Stacey Furtado hit her own three that tied the game at 49-49. Both teams kept swapping baskets over the last eight minutes of play. With 1:31 left to play, Dorsey gave Dougies the 61-58 lead with a deep triple. Unfortunately, District 5 ended the game on a 4-0 run to take the Women’s 5v5 title.

Maureen Lemay led District 5 with 15 points while collecting eight rebounds. Julie Ham added 14 points and Kreckie scored 12 points.

Dorsey had a game-high 23 points and two blocks. Marcia Whitehead and Forbes each contributed with eight points and a combined four steals.
