Billy Ball

When I showed up the score was 27-24 mid first half, but I'm still not sure who was winning. Seriously Biruk? Of all the rules of basketball the Home team wearing the lighter color is a pretty simple one, unless we're talking alternate uniforms in the NBA this is pretty basic stuff.

Once we got that figured out the teams went back and forth and wound up tied 34-34 at the half so I guess we were on even footing. Nestler and Stat kept it going down low and MNT used a series of hustle plays with Noah and Stat coming up with steals and assists to make it a 52-48 game.

But Billy responded with a few flashy assists while Ben and Chris did work down low in an 8-0 run that sealed it for the Muffins.

HFM Was Starving, They get Their Meal, With a Delicious OT W

HFM Was Starving, They get Their Meal, With a Delicious OT W

We had no Tenney  for this one, and things looked very bad for HFM, looked like their season was doomed. Mirza started things out with an O board finish 2-0 HFM. Mc1 trying to ge back to form, nailed his first J 4-0, than added that up n under we all love 6-0 HFM at the 12:30 mark. Spider man Sparado  got his team on the board with a strong take, 6-2. Silva cashes in 3 ball, assisted by Wash, Ponsetto was able to respond 9-4. Mirza  went high off the glass for another bucket, but a smooth play where Gans found Ponsetto made it 11-6, this game was uglyyy so far. Wash looked so much better nailing a 3 ball, Flowers connected on a rare jumper 14-8 HFM at the 14 min mark. Silva  cash money on the jumper 16-8. Ponsetto smooth stroke 3 ball made it 16-11. Silva taking advantage of playing time, hits another 3 , this boy was hot! Mirza would convert the big boy bucket and HFM was looking great w/o Tenney 21-11, he would then have and an1 on the next play 23-11. Gans  finally connected on a 3 ball 23-14 att he 6:55 mark. Ponsetto/Gans  working well together for bucket, but Enteinne put together his bets B draft game so far with the and 1 finish, after a sick pass from Mc1 to Mirza it was a shocking 31-16. Say no made a nice push here, with Flowers  getting to the rim, a Spider man  3 ball, as the half ended with a 32-23 score. Say No was a retched 3-15 from 3.

Entienne  got top the rack to start the half, but a Flynn  deep 3 sparked Say No, and then Gans found Spadaro  for 3 it was 34-30 in a blink , we got a ball game!! Mirza  was a huge 3 to calm the pace 37-30 with just 16: 30 to go. Gans  was dimeing as he recorded his 5th ast to Ponsetto for 3 37-33. Mirza  was the constant all day, as he got another bucket 39-33. Mc1  swished in a 3 ball 42-33 with 13 min on the clock. Ponsetto  hustle turns into points, Flynn  would hit another 3, Ponsetto  to the rack, then Flowers  drive all of sudden Say, No was up 44-42, Ponsetto would go coast to coast, followed up by a Webert jumper , and HFM looked like they were in trouble 48-42, Mirza would nott hem the go away, as he got the bucket 48-44 Say no was up. Flowers  went 1-2 from the line 49-44 with just 2 min to go. Wash  hits a clutch 3, after a bad turnover by Say No, Mc1  was able to sneak in with 2 sec left to get the roll on a lay in, after a game saving block from Silva , we go to OTTTTTTTTTT

Mirza  would record his 6th block, and Mc1  goes off glass for the lead 51-49. Gans then put his super hero cape on and converted a huge and 1, but they missed the lay in, and even missed the shot after Spadaro  got the o board, 51-51, and then Mirza completed his great game, with a back breaking and 1 54-51 HFM STILL ALIVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am the Kaptain Now

Is this how all Kap teams play? It's like dude runs 2-a-week practices where they talk about not taking forced shots. Or it's like he just drafts dude (or suggests drafting dudes) who don't force shots. It was slow-paced execution early with NMWW movig it around to get good shots and take a 22-9 lead.

Clearly frustrated by the pace, TLJ couldn't find any offense other than Cawley isolating. They trailed 33-20 at the break and got it down to single digits a couple times as Cawley attacked the basket. Brian woke up late but his squad was attacking too hard and that led to an absurd amount of counter-attack hoops, several of which Kap through it up to Djorde and called him Joel....kiss I only have eyes foooooooooor you

Fish Out Of Water, KINGFISH Collapse Late!

Fish Out Of Water, KINGFISH Collapse Late!

All the key players were here, and we were set for some high flying B draft action. Paris got things started right away with bucket on Harry, and then did it again on the next play 4-0. Wein to Pollock gets them on the board 6-2, but Paris was eating 6-2. Wein/Pollock  yet again, and then Wein  robot jumper ties it 6-6, he would then go off glass giving his team the lead 8-7 Now Yous at the 15 min mark. Fischer went 2-2 from the line to get the lead 9-8. Back n forth Pollock hits 10-9, Ghost hits 11-10 Kingfish, Wein hits 12-11 Now Yous, Jesus now Ian  hits 13-12 KiNG Fish, Ghost hits and they have a huge 3 point lead 15-12 with 12 to go. Wein to rack 15-14, but a sexy Ghost  hook shot 17-14. Kenny V  got the lay in to go 17-16 KingFish. Fish  ncie steal, finish 21-16. Pollock  sick overhead pass to Wein,  then Wein  hits jumper, then Pollock hots 3, man can the explode, but Sammy Big Balls canned a 3 and the score sat at 24-23 King Fish up with 7 min to go. Ian/Pollock  traded midrange jumpers , but Fish would go on a nice run to end the half, and Ian/Paris were balling out giving them the 38-33 edge at the half.

Ian to Paris  right away 40-33. Wein  goes 2-2 from the line 40-34 Fish up. Kenny V/Pollock make sweet music for the P n roll bucket 40-36 17 min. Sammy Big balls  again for 3 43-36, and then Ian  cooking for 2 45-36. Hendrix  coming alive goes to rack 45-38, Pollock  sliced through fo2 45-40 .  Dodd  made a  tough jumper, and Fish  got a bucket 49-40  12 min to go. Pollock/Fish  trade layins, but then KingFish went on a run, Ghost bucket, and then a beautiful pass from Ian  to Dodd, topped off by another sick play Fish  to Paris  it was 57-42, Fish looked like they had this thing wrapped up, Pollock  went 2-2 from the line making the score 57-44 with just 7:30 to go, and then Now Yous EXPLODED !!!!! Weinstein 3, Weinstein  3, Pollock to Wein  lay in, another fucking Wein 3,  all of a sudden it was 61-55 with just 5 to go. Harry  hits jumper to inch them closer 61-57, then Polly  found an open  Hendrix……..BANG  61-60 with 3 min to go. Pollock  lined up a 3 of his own, and it goes in holy fuck they have the lead 63-61 what a run. Paris  responded with bucket to tie it at 63. Hendrix/Fish  traded tough buckets, but there goes that man Wein  gets 2, Ian  not backing down ties it at 67. Harry  would have a huge play, where he hustles, yes he hustled for 2 o boards which turned into another fucking Wein 3,  it was 70-67. Ghost  hit to bring Fish within 1 70-69 what a game. Wein  goes 1-2 from line  71-69. Fish/Polly  traded buckets yet again. Then Fischer would commit he T calling timeout when they didn’t have 1 yikes., and that would be the straw that broke the camels back, what a win for Now Yous 75-71.

Now Yous

Harry-B-  Those 2 O boards, where hugeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Pollock-A-  MVP frontrunner right now

Wein- OPOY frontrunner right now

Hendrix-B-) Came alive, still need a lil more from him

Kenny-C-) Saved his day with some p n roll action, but man he shot is broken 0-7 from 3.

Kingfish

Ian-B+-  He was very good in this game.

Fish-B-  funny felt like an off day, and he almost had a trip doub, standards are high for this machine of a player.

Paris-B- Great in 1st half, didn’t have the same impact down the stretch.

Ghost- B-  ditto Paris

Dodd- C-  need more from this gritty vet, still getting his legs back

Sammy-B-  His 3’s gave them a chance to win, but needed just one more.

The Mugatu's 64  Turbo Team 60

No Noah, Still No Win for Turbo

Unlike what I said last week, this time Mugatus are actually facing off against a winless team, and though they have their #1 pick back, they only had 4 players this time. Turbo meanwhile was missing their captain, but maybe any kind of change is a good one for this team at this point. They came out of the gates really hot as this game got off to a hectic start with lots of 3 balls being thrown around. Corrigan was absolutely everywhere, he assisted on their first three buckets and had three early steals. Clasby also really impressed early on, with a smooth shot and great fundamentals, he was always where he needed to be. On the other end their length was really giving the Mugatus fits, especially Cassassa after he dominated last week. What he was missing in baskets though he was making up for in assists, he was passing really well out of the post. Kodra was taking advantage of these passes and continued his hot streak from 3, I think this is the new normal now from him, but he was being matched shot for shot by Malsbenden. We almost had a disaster near the end of the half when I was bad at counting time outs, but we got it resolved and Corrigan came out fired up, cashing a big 3 with less than a minute left and almost hitting a halfcourt shot at the buzzer. Turbo looking they have a chance, up 34-28.

In the second half however Turbo started to lose some of their energy, especially Corrigan and Clasby, who didn’t have near the impact they did in the first half. Part of their issue was that I think the ref was getting tired and didn’t want to call much, he was really letting them play physical out there, we may have had more jump balls than fouls. I thought Jennings was playing really smart, but unfortunately for him he was running around a bunch of trees out there. Too many possessions ended with Williams taking a contested 3, and they just weren’t falling tonight. Turbo could use a true ball handler, at one point we saw Williams just following Malsbenden around in a circle. To be fair, Belliveau did almost the exact same thing, dribbling an entire circle around the court by himself before chucking up an air ball from 3, but luckily for him he hit a clutch 3 and some free throws down the stretch for some redemption. The true hero of the game though was JDM. He was an animal on the boards as per usual and was throwing his big body all over the court for loose balls. He took over towards the end of the game, hitting floaters, banks, putbacks, everything, he had yet another 20-20 game. Clasby had an open look for 3 towards the end to give them a chance, but it wasn’t meant to be, Mugatus close it out 64-60 in a back and forth affair.
