6:30 Sheff’s Choice vs Threes and Rebounds Again

Game 1 my team 6-3 Sheff’s Choice against 3-6 Threes and Rebounds Again. In two head to head matchups during the regular season SC was 2-0 against 3&RA. Keys here are for SC to limit Manny and BMul working inside and keep them off the offensive glass and make Nate and Kulpa beat us with jumpers. Civale and I will have some extra motivation as Manny knocked out our Bdraft team in the playoffs last Thursday in an overtime thriller. SC will have a full squad and will look to keep the tempo up until 3&RA run out of gas.

SC -6.5 3&RA

Bonus player prop – Kulpa o/u 15 points

7:20 Golden Oldies vs He Had Game

Game 2 features 7-2 Golden Oldies taking on 2-7 He Had Game. Fresh off Chas taking home GM of the Session, Golden Oldies have been a mix of a well-balanced, multifaceted offensive attack and a strong defensive presence, leading the league in points allowed. He Had Game has not won a game in over a month, limping into the end of the season with 3 straight losses. I am not counting HHG out though, I think Cavano is a great matchup against Skelley and/or Kodra. Danny O’Donnell will have to match the offensive production of Gold, which may be a tall order. Ian Murphy could be in line for a big game with Oldies bigs trying to contain Cavano. I’ll still take Oldies in this one tho.

Golden Oldies -5 He Had Game

Bonus prop – Gold o/u 5 3pm

8:10 Goat Shits 2 vs Talk Shit Get Hit

Game 3 features 7-2 Goat Shits against 2-7 TSGH. It has been a tough season for Harry and TSGH, finishing 2-7 despite having a lot of talent on their roster. Mazz/Kap and company have continued to roll after winning the chip last session and are showing no signs of slowing down. Mazz took home MVP on 33.33 ppg, leading the league in scoring despite having one hand for most of the season. Kap takes home the first Hanky-Panky Allstar award. SMul was DPoy. This team has a lot of hardware. Despite all the accolades, TSGH did, however, manage to hand GS one of their 2 losses this year. How will the mostly undersized GS deal with Sydorko and Leblanc and perhaps even post-Harry? It’s hard to deny GS talent but I think TSGH will make a game of it.

GS -6.5 TSGH

Bonus prop – Mazz o/u 31 points

9:00 CAC N Ballers vs Over The Hills and Far Away

The last game of the night between the 4 and 5 seeds is probably the toughest to call. OTHAFA beat CNB twice during the regular season, but CNB is hot right now, coming into the playoffs winning their last 2. Both teams have a lot of shooting between Arria and Weinstein for CNB and Brett and Lagno for OTH, so I expect this to be a high scoring game. However CNB has the best player in Cawley and I think that will be the difference. It is the late game in the first round of the playoffs, so anything is possible. Will the ref walk out again after getting fed up with Joe Randall’s whining? We will have to see. I’ll take CNB in a close one

Bonus prop – Cawley o/u 22 points.

Nate Crispy, but Casey Sends him Packing

Casey came right of the gate and nailed two 3 balls 6-0. Kindle bucket, Civale 3 11-0 yikes (14:40). Manny went 1-2 to get them on the board 11-1. Casey dimed up Civale/Kindle in consecutive possessions  15-1. Manny went on an 8-0 run byhimself canning two 3’s, but a Sheff  3 stopped the momentum 18-9. Manny scores but SC matches with a kindle bucket/Ft add in a Casey Orb put in it was 23-11 (7min). Both teams would go back n forth and the lead would stay at 11 as at the half it was 33-22.

Casey scores right away to try and kill 3’s&RA spirit, but B.Mul 3 ball gives them hope. Casey/Kindle got buckets, and then a Casey, and 1 this was not looking good 45-27. 3’s&RA would not back down. Nate/B.Mul went absolutely crazy from 3 as they combined fr 8 3’s made it a 68-60 game but , it was just to late. SC moves on 70-60.

Nate-A-Dude went nutssssssssss, just couldn’t get his team all the way back in it

Manny-C+-Really good in the 1st half only 2 points in the 2nd

PerkinsC+-Hustled his ass off but needed more than 3 points

B.Mul-A-) got hot but too late

Danner-C-)Just didn’t seem to get in the flow of the game

Sheff-C-Not one of his best, not one of his worst

Casey-A-Really in attack mode, loved the focus.

Civale-B+-Solid, pretty darn efficient

Kindle-A-His best game yet

Hanks-B-Thought he made the most of his minutes

Butter-C-Not to much smooth butter stuff, I wanted more on my toast.

Ugly But Moving On Is Pretty

MC1 got things started 3-0 (19:00). Kap responded with a 3 of his own, Mazz finished a tsumbeling drive, followed by a soft Kap hook 7-3 (17:00). Gans 2-2, but Kap had the answers as he went to the cup. Leblanc cashed a 3 9-8 (9:30). Jet swishd a 3 ball, then flew in for a floater, followed by S.Mul orb action 16-8 (4 min). Leblanc jumper16-10. Kap/Mazz get buckets, but TSGH ends the half on a 4-0 run 20-14.

Mazz right away 22-14. Leblanc/Gans make it a 4pts game 22-18 (15:50). The game would really come off the rails here, as TSGH missed 3 after 3 after , you guessed it after 3. Mazz would hit a couple of 3’s, Jet was doing his thang, and Kap led the way. GOAT moves on 48-23.

Mazz-B-) Not his best, but a win is a win. D was good.

Amir-N/A really didn’t play much

Kap-A-Classic vet performance, really was the steady hand.

S.Mull-B+-Thought he was solid on both ends.

Jet-B-Solid way to come back into the Over 30 world.

Dunton-C+-Hes played better but still hustled hard

Harry-C-Playe good D in the 1st, but def checked out from not touching the ball.

Gans-C-) Ice cold

EJ-D-) Ice cold

Leblanc-B-) rebounded well, just couldn’t get that shot to get going

Mc1-C-started well was snatchign steals but that basket had a lid on it.

Shorthanded and F’ing Dangerous

OTH came into the game almost forfeiting but they got a sub just in time we had a game. Wein money to start 2-0. Ian started his strong day with an Obrd put in 2-2. Cawley cashed 3 5-2, followed by a Wein stl fin 7-2 (18 min). OTH would kick things into gear as The Hitman was hot, and Ian was feeding off it after a 3 ball it was 14-12 OTH (12:30). Cawley fighting the momentum got an ord finish 14-14. Brett 2-2, Ian tips an O brd to Brett  for a cash 3 19-14. Daley would get a rare jumper to go, but there goes that man as Ian would convert a filthy move 21-16. Wein/Cawley  got consecutive buckets, but a Lagno  3 kept OTH up24-20 (6min). Teams would stay pretty even but after a late Hitman  up n under it was 31-24 at the break.

Wein started the 2nd half like 1st with a jumper, but Hitman, was Hitmanning as he canned another 3, and anotherrrrrrr 37-26 (17 min). Cawely post/Pizza orb finish but Ian would get 2 after a broken play 39-30. Arria 3 ball, Cawley 1-2,Wein  nice cut, and then a Cawley jimmy we got a game 39-38!! Ian would nail a jimmy but Arria  3 ball up and good we are tied 41-41 (13 min). Cawley to rack for lead, Lagno for 3 for the lead, Wein jumper for the lead, Packard orb put in for the lead wow! Ian would get a post bcuket it was 48-45 (8 min). Brett Leaner, Ian 3 balls 53-45 wow. Cawley converts nasty and 1 but Lagno trey ball, Brett would hit a step over half 3, and that would be that CNB could not recover. OTH shorthanded playoff upset 64-51

Randal-C-Know he needed to play better, 3 steals saves his day

Cawley-B-) feel like he needed to be even more aggressive than he was

Arria-C-Not a good game to have his worst shooting night

Wein-B-Solid, but some late turnovers hurt them

Daley-C-)Hustled but could not convert

Pizza-C-) Nice obrd put in, but not to much else

Lagno-B-Big 3’s in the 2nd half gave his team the edge

Ian-A++++-Was this the best I have seen him play?? He was awsome all over the court

7-2 Golden Oldies vs 2-7 He Had Game

Coming into this matchup Oldies were the favorite, finishing the session 7-2, whereas He Had Game had some ups and downs, mostly downs, finishing out 2-7. There was a decent amount of parity this session and final records don’t tell the whole story, so I wasn’t giving Oldies the stone-cold lock to win. Oldies would have everyone available, and He Had Game were missing facilitator Matt O’Donnell.

Gold opened up this game on a mission, scoring or assisting on his team’s first 15 points, and Oldies were off to the races on a 15-0 run. Alan finally got a bucket to go for He Had Game but Skelley would respond with a layup inside. Dan O’Donnell decided to turn it on for HHG and hit a 3 and a jumped and Cavano would follow suit with a 3 of his own and it was 17-10. Gold hit a 3 and a pair of free throws but He Had Game would surge as the first half drew to a close with Cavano and Dan chipping away at the lead. With the final seconds ticking away in the half, Alan launched a half court buzzer beater and banked it home and He Had Game went into halftime with a 1-point lead, 24-23.

Gold opened the second half hitting a tough layup and-1 and diming up Kodra for an easy bucket. Gold’s ability to draw defensive coverage on his drives consistently led to open looks for his teammates. Ian Murphy, who I though was in line for a big game, finally got on the scoreboard in the second half and Dan would also hit back to back buckets. It was a 6-point Oldies lead about midway through the half. Kodra had a great stretch for Oldies, getting jumpers, layups, and putbacks to fall and kept Oldies lead intact. Cavano would hit another 3 but Captain Chas would get a pair of layups to push the lead to 50-40 with 2 minutes left to play. At this point HHG had to foul and Gold, Chas and company were able to hold on to the lead and take a 56-44 win into the next round, where my team will be waiting.

Golden Oldies

Gold – A+ 31/5/6 50% 3point Gold did a lot of everything tonight, played at a calm pace and made a ton of great reads to find his team the right shot.

Chas – B Chas had a rough first half defensively but made up for it scoring in the second half

Kodra – A+ great job defensively on Cavano and had 10 second half points

Stull – D 0-4 from 3

Skelley – C not a ton of counting stats and missed some bunnies but played decent defense.

Kielley – C see above

He Had Game

Cavano – C didn’t score as much as was needed and maybe should have looked to pass more, rather than dribbling into double teams. Credit GO’s defense there

Murphy – C- had a ton of rebounds but did not look aggressive on offense

Dan A- He was asked to do a lot offensively and responded well (24 points)

Lindsey – D 0-3 from 3, not much else

Alan – B+ that buzzer beat was sexy
