SEYI ALL DAY

I called it boys.

As the title implies, this was the Seyi game. In the single best performance, I’ve seen from him, Seyi absolutely manhandled each and every defender C2C threw at him. And even when they forced him out of the paint and into tough contested two, he hit those too. There was simply nothing C2C could do on that end. And with another poor shooting display from deep (4/23, 17% as a team) the volatility was not there for them to pull the upset. It’s interesting; I don’t think C2C is doing anyone one thing wrong, they are simply not doing enough right with the creation and therefore not hitting enough from deep. A regression is coming.

Premature Shooters Outlast the Gangsters, Coming Behind in the Final Minutes

What an insane ending to this game, these last few minutes were pure chaos.. RmG led the entire game and coughed the lead up at the end

-MM hitting not 1, not 2, but 3 GIANT triples

-Less then 50 seconds to go, and Big D sprints up the court to pick Musses pocket from behind

-Paul clinching the game in the final ~20 seconds, by snagging back to back offensive boards on shanked free-throws

Premature Shooters

-Thing of beauty watching these guys share the rock (17 total assists).. 3x players breaking 3+ assists, including Paul & AO each w/ 5

-Total beat-down on the glass (45 total) and 2nd chance points.. the impressive part being they snagged 20 monsterous offensive boards (Big D himself snagging 20 boards, 9O)

-Team will be downright scarey going forward if they continue to hit at 40% from deep while jacking up 30+ 3s a gamge (Paul and MM each smacked 4x)

-Paul absolutley dominated this game on all fronts and showing why hes a top pick, making a big play when needed on both sides of the ball.. 26/10/5/4

-Joe looking an absolute steal as hes able to be a jack-knife and do all sorts of things.. 3s, steals, blocks, boards, you name it and its going down

Respect my Gangster

-Welcome to the WAG club (AO coined this phrased) Larry, has he put all sorts of pressure on himself by bringing his lady in white.. clearly inpsired, he started this game off red hot, dropping ~10 in the opening minutes of the game

-Back to back weeks RmG showed up a member of the WAG.. do they go for 3?

-Musse came as advertised, a one man offensive juggernaut as he made it rain from deep all game and was unguardable when attacking the hoop.  After this 3rd straight 3x, someone from the crowd belted out HES ON FIRE.. ended up making a 4th in the row, before the team oddly went away from the hot hand (hell he bloody banked one in)

-Steiner lameting over the fact M.Jones is a captain and couldnt draft him.. Mike continues to do his thing, playing hard nosed defense and smacking from long range

-Jorge had an incredibly solid game, but ultimately lacked the size needed to match-up with the Big D

Another week down, and more victims to grace The Wall of Shame

Lerner, Frongi nearly pull the upset

I have named both teams since you guys were too lazy and/or dumb to do so. You’re welcome. Last game of the day was a close affair, soured slightly by Dunton going down with an ankle injury. Which sucks, especially since he started on fire. This team might be in trouble if he is forced to miss time.

Key point for the #BrewCrew  before the game was getting help for Lerner. The number 1 pick did his thing again, that thing being throwing his shoulder into fools and finishing at the rim. It’s impressive and scary, or scary impressive. But this time he had a lot more help from Frongi. The man hit his first two triples and that opened everything else up for him. Which is funny, because he would hit none after. I don’t know if it’s the confidence that comes from it or the respect that the defenders then have to give him by sticking closer, but it let him cut to the rim with confidence and go ham in transition.

Alex ‘The UNIT’ Klepadlo, which is a million times easier to say than trying to guess the pronunciation of the last name, was once again spectacular for WTM. He had it going early with the midrange before switching over to passing out of the double once Dunton left. Rookie Charles, formerly ‘Other’ Charles, also had another awesome game with another 40% showing from deep on exactly 10 attempts. Hey, I appreciate the easy math. WTM would go into the break with a slim 37-35 lead.

Third quarter was the Abhi takeover. I’ve pumped him up too much, but he really carried his squad late on a bevy of drives to the rim. The last was a truly outrageous acute angle leaner which I still don’t understand. But Lerner, who I do understand is really good, kept attacking the rim and drawing enough fouls to keep it close. They would eventually tie it on a Harry J with a minute left.

This is where it gets interesting. After the tie, they got the ball back with a chance to steal the lead. They took a timeout to set up the play, which is fine, but a little dangerous considering it was their last one. Anyway, it worked! The OOT play had WTM in confusion, which led to a wide open Harry layup… but it rimmed out. Heartbreaker. Abhi hit another jumper, #BrewCrew was forced to foul, and WTM eventually walked out with the win. So close.
