Winter 2010: Lunch League Champs: Cold Cuts

    Majics 50 shots not Kosher
    The Chronic 85 Kosher Revival 70

    Obviously my favorite storyline of this season has been Majic's quest for 40 ppg.  He can score in bunches and has been Kosher Revival's best shot at winning games. Now I knew he was a volume shooter, but it figures that I picked his most reDONKulous shooting afternoon to track his total shots.

    In his quest, he knew he needed 90 points over the last 2 games of the season and came out firing away.  Unfortunately, he only hit 1 of his first 10 total shots.  Yea, a trend that wasn't going to turn around anytime soon.  Going 4 - 25 from the field was one of the causes of his team being down 38-19 at the break.  Another was some sloopy play on D and Mytro going off for 20 points.  Kid was well on his way to a TDub and didn't fail to deliver.

    Man we went 5 weeks without a single triple double and then have one in back to back weeks, the Lunch League action is heating up! I love it!  Despite the fact that Majic went 11-25 in the second half (much better % - 44% for a 3 point shooter ain't bad) Chronic was able to keep the lead comfortably in double digits.  That's becuase Reeves, the Animal and Henri picked their games up in big ways. Reeves continues his quest to be a top 3 scorer in the league

    Henri had a solid double double with 12 and 10 and the dude just doesn't quit.  The full 40 minutes and his recent lunch pup work on Friday have really help.  Garrett earned a few afternoon beers at TDs with his play as well. This squad is trying to make last week look like a blip on the radar screen and pretend it never happened.  They're all alone in first now and ready to make a run at the Lunch League title.  Speaking of which, we need a 'trophy' for the inaugural season of the lunch league!! Let's see what the other leagues have

    A1 = Golden Brick

    B1 = Golden Stick

    B2 = Golden Dish

    SML = Golden 40oz

    A 5v5 = Champ Belt

    I sense a pattern, we probably need something Golden. I like the direction RoY took the Sunday Morning League with an alcoholic trophy.  And why wouldn't I, that's the best run league at CAC!  Got a suggestion, head to the message boards and let me know what you think! We'll have a poll question next week with my favorite entries!

    All I gotta say is that I'm pumped about this possible rematch next week. No way Majic shoots this poorly again (15-50 or 30% for those wondering).  Chronic needs a win or a Cold Cuts lose to clinch first but could still lose out on the #1 spot. I like the direction the lunch league is heading.  Ok, NOT about a guy taking 50 shots, but everyone having a solid season and getting a hell of a run in. What do you have better to do on Wednesday afternoons?! With guys like BMul, Joffre Cruz (you know who he is) and yours truly making moves into the Lunch League next season, it's only going to get better! Sign-up for a spot in the Spring League!
